So, having been to the Stratford store this weekend the kind of good news is that they think they will be stocking the 3G version sometime next month. The bad news is that they have no idea when or if they will be stocking the 32GB versions. I got the same answer I had before. Samsung haven't decided if the demand is there or not (or something like that). Very disappointed. Will start a seperate thread on 32GB avialability and import costs to see where I can find one to ship here to the UK.

[edit] It annoys me, the assumption that people wont want to store more than 9GB worth of apps on there device at any one time. Their argument being that the device is expandable due to the SD card slot. Thats all well and good for media, but it doesnt change the fact that your limited to what you can store on your device. I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks soon. My non gaming apps take up about 2GB leaving me with 7GB for games. By the time ive installed HORN, Galaxy on Fire 2, Real Racing and few other small games I will be at my limit. I like variety though, I dont know what ill be in the mood for.

Samsung have even been on watchdog last week with regards to their advertised storage capacity vs what is actually available to the user. While I agree with Samsung that 16GB is 16GB regardless of how much room the OS takes. With all the "bloatware" (Watchdog's words, not mine, I find some of the additions genuinely useful) your left with only 2/3 of that space. Surely the fact that they are getting enough complaints to warant including it on the programme shows that there is demand for higher capacity units.

In this day and age, 32gb should be the minimum storage.

Samsung also needs to start communicating with their customers and tell them from the start what will/won't be available in terms of spec and colour options.

The launch of th 8.0 in the UK has been a real shambles.

I'm a real Sammy fan, however they could learn a few things from the fruit company when is comes to product launches.

So whats the best deal currently on the 16gb wifi here in the UK? I was hoping I could try and haggle with a manager at the samsung store this weekend in order to get something extra for free if I purchased there and then rather than online somewhere else... :p

I think £339 is the cheapest I've seen for the WiFi version. That's Carphonewarehouse & PC World. Not sure if they have stock. Expansys have stock but are charging £359

Good spot i_maq.

I'm holding out for the lte version or possibly the Note 3

:)

Mine arrived an hour ago - it takes up to 14 working days as they're shipping them over from China, the firmware is just fine, latest version, but I'm rooting and custom romming anyway, they do supply a UK charger adapter but I've got plenty of micro USB chargers lying around. The delivery was tracked so I could see exactly where it was.

You can get the 3G version from amazon.de for about £390 plus £5 postage. Got mine last week, works perfectly

No idea why Germany has it but UK doesn't incidentally!

Seriously, when are Samsung going to pull their finger out and bring the 3G Note 8 to the UK? I'm in no mood to drop £400 on something I'd have to get supported via Germany.

complete balls up of a UK launch, no 3G/LTE and less importantly no colour variants. At this rate I'll be getting an Ipad mini or a cheap Nexus 7 3G to keep me going.

Quite a few places have stock. I got mine from John Lewis as I could take advantage of a friends store discount, but they had them in 2 of my local car phone warehouses as well.
