UK video rentals with US stock 3.2 ROM

I have a UK Xoom but as Motorola are so slow to release updates I unlocked the bootloader and put the US stock 3.2 ROM on it (build HTK75D). It's not rooted. As Video rentals were enabled in the UK this week I thought I would try one out. Unfortunately I got the dreaded "Playback is not supported on rooted devices. Error 49" message.

Does anyone else in the UK have this issue? Or even somebody with an unrooted Xoom with an unlocked bootloader?

I used the youtube workaround but its not ideal as full screen didn't work very well (there was a weird bar at the bottom of the picture).

my xoom is the same as yours - uk with 3.2 US image - not tried any video stuff yet - nothing taken my fancy that i havent already seen.

when i do i'll give it a go - is the youtube workaround somewhere easy to find in case i get issues?

Just go to the youtube.com/movies site, login and it will remind you to watch the video. The first time I tried it in the xoom browser it exited. To fix this I changed to the desktop user agent via the about:debug menu
