Hello guys. My HU just came back from China. It sat for 5 months in customs there then it was simply sent back to me;/
I updated it with most recent firmware
Processor type- UltraOcta-T8
System ver- v9.2.2_20180314.153952_TW2-FD
And now i cant get any Bluetooth devices to be found or connect to the HU, another issue is that it doesnt display AC screen when i do any changes to the temps and stuff.. I tried different MCUs (stored on the HU not flashed) for my car non of them worked. Any ideas how can i bring it back?
You can flash firmwares to your HU without brick the unit, but BT may not work. My Umecity unit is compatible with JP1-FD and KBT8-FD firmwares, but BT is not working with KED1-i145 firmware. I would suggest to try V9.2.2_20180703.135630_KBT8-FD.
Do not flash MCUs to your HU if they are not coming from your seller. It's very risky to brick HU.
T3/T8 HUs have firmwares with a lot of limitations and users cannot do much about. BT, for example, may or may not work with OBD dongles. I like my HU to have Accessibility options in Settings, but I found none of T3/T8 with Android 6.0/7.1.2/8.1 has it available. We are at the mercy of the HU developers.
As for BT connection you may check if the settings are correct before flashing another firmware. Go to Settings/Car Settings/Facility Settings (password 123456), and look at Config Info. You will see BC6 or BC8 checked. I am not sure which one you may have but you can try one or the other then reboot. If not configured correctly, BT name and code will show empty.Alright. Which ones are compatibile with Tw2-fd's? I didnt touch the MCU. I just have few preloaded MCU for different car vendors (extra car settings) it did work when it came from china but now i cant seem to find one that is compatibile with my Honda Accord 7. As i mentioned before climate control works but i dont get a popup display showing temps zones and stuff.
I'll try the one you suggested. But will i risk bricking the whole device with incompatibile firmware?
Changing the smallest width setting from 600dp to 400dp makes the Google Assistant think this is a phone and voice dialing can be achieved. Well partly, the assistant can find the contact and process the instruction but it doesn't parse the information onto the Bluetooth app (even if you select BT app for the dialer). Meanwhile EXDialer will let you parse the information along but it doesn't find any Google contacts, but if you key in a number it does parse that information along to the native BT app.
Also you can set the dp setting back and Google Assistant will continue to work till a reboot, you can't really change it permanently since it messes with the layout of built in apps, i.e. radio, etc.
I just got a 9" IPS HU , T8 Octa 2GB/32GB , Android 8.1 Installed it today with a friend who has the same modell from "Isottu".
We could not get the steering wheel buttons "added" or "programmed". None of the buttons work or are recognized. He recalls he had also trouble
programming the steering wheel buttons to the HU. Do you guys know the exact method how to set up the steering wheel buttons?
Everything else works: GPS, BT, RADIO, USB etc... Also the unit is supposed to support 32GB SD card but the "slot" on the top of the HU looks very strange, it feels like
I would be dropping my 4GB SD card into a "hole". Does not look like a real slot to me
Please help, I really need my steering wheel buttons to work, the unit supports it - also for my friend....
First of all, I would like to say that @Rottgrub is ultimately right, and you should not try to flash MCU if not absolutely sure / have a backup image of yours and ready to brick the HU.
