Thanks mate, do you know if you can change the DPI settings on either handset? with DPI changer or similar

Yes, you can do that, I add a line in my build.prop file and I am using ro.sf.lcd_density=260 and it works without a problem. BTW I also changed my screen resolution to 720x1280. Better fps in games and great memory savings. Device feels very snappy.

Can you change the resolution without disabling the capacitive buttons?? I have not been able to do this...

No, Im sorry, you can not change res w/o disabling the capacitive buttons, but you can have soft buttons by editing this line: qemu.hw.mainkeys=1

Then if you find the navigation bar too big, you can change size and appearance with gravity box, an xposed module, very useful.

here a SS:

@dragsterman umi x2 has a ogs screen (one glass screen). The digitizer lcd screen and glass are only one spare part. I'm afraid that you can't change the glass only.

I have an UMI X2 Turbo.
Unfortunately yesterday I have dropped the phone and the glass have broken but the screen and the touchscreen is working well.
Could you help me where can I order a new glass lens for my UMI? (so I do not need a new lcd screen + digitizer I need just the glass)
I think If I would have the replacement glass I could replace it at home.

As dubazar mentioned, you can buy a new glass/lcd/digitizer package but they are $135.
Another issue is that it only comes in black.

I recently replaced the screen on my girlfriends Voto X2 (Same as Umi X2) with very bad results.
The screen that you purchase is one whole assembly that is 90% of the entire phone. All that you use from your original phone is the outer case, the two small circuit boards and what I assume is the antenna. What I believe to be the antenna is the black tape surface that runs underneath the battery and has the sticker with the model information on it. This attaches to one of the circuit boards and has to be carefully peeled off and put back onto the metal frame of the new screen.

I have a lot of experience working with and building electronics and the task is not too difficult but after completing the screen swap I found that the power button no longer worked. The power and volume buttons are on one ribbon cable with integrated compression buttons. This cable is soldered to the main circuit board then immediately does a 90 degree bend to lay the buttons onto the side of the phone where they mount. The end of the cable with the buttons is glued to a small metal plate which is then glued to the side of the screens metal frame. You have to peel the metal plate away from the screens frame in order to swap the main circuit board over to the new frame. My assumption is that while doing this one of the traces in the printed circuuit cable broke. I was able to trace the circuit and found that one line was not making contact back at the soldered connections even though under high magnification I could not see a break in the cable. The break is likely in the connection between the layers of the printed circuit cable right at the power button switch.
I carefully peeled open the layers of the printed circuit cable and soldered a very very thin piece of magnet wire to the outside edge of the metal pad for the switch and soldered the other end to the proper pin on the circuit board and got the power button working again. I congratulated myself on my accomplishment and put the phone back together only to find that the proximity sensor no longer works. If you try to make or accept a call the OS turns the LCD display off and you cannot turn it back on. The screen will remain off until the call is ended at which time it comes back on automatically but you no longer have the ability to hang up the call or use the screen while the call is connected.
Looking at the new screen you cannot see the light and proximity sensors behind the glass as it is painted dark and this is the screen for the black phone rather than the white. In the hopes that the proximity sensor could not read through the darker coating on the inside of the glass I carefully scraped it clean from the inside but the sensor still does not work.
The sensors are soldered directly to the main circuit board and there are no loose connections to check so I am at a loss for what else to do unless I can find out how to disable the software call that turns the screen off or some way of making the power button responsive when it is in a call mode.

The other issue due to this being a dark screen is that the LEDs that illuminate the home, menu and return pads on the bottom of the screen are not bright enough to make those pads visible in normal light. It works in the dark but in the light you cannot see the icons indication the pad functions so you have to remember what is where.

The screen swap can be done but as careful as I was the phone was still damaged. At $135. for a replacement screen, it only being available in black and the ease in which the phone can be damaged I would recommend caution before making the purchase.

I have pictures of the inside parts of the phone if anyone needs them.

I'll post them tomorrow.

Speaking of the audo settings, what settings would max the volume on the phone?
I set the values to max on all of the modes but it has made no difference in the volume.
What are each "Type" settings for?. Sip, Mic, Sph, Sph2, Sid and Media as well as others under different modes.

In settings u can choose to hang up a call when u press the power button, maybe that will help?

I just broke my screen today. The phone is working fine but its quite anoying. I'm not planning on paying 135$ to replace the screen while i can get a new umi x2 for 230$.

I have umi x2 turbo 2gb/32gb

U have to options
1. use flashtool with adequate files of rom in needrom and flash from a windows computer
2. if U can boot to recovery (volume up + power), copy an update.zip (recovery image) to a microsd, place it i phone and boot in recovery. from there, you can flash the zip

Ordered mine, it can take a couple weeks before I have it, but im planning to develop on it.
Cyanogenmod won't be possible as mediatek does no give free their kernel sources, but an optimized stock rom is the least I can do.
sorry one last question is rom rooted bro:fingers-crossed:

Yeah it's rooted =) it's always rooted. haha...A lot less chinese apps from what i see. But it still doesn't fix the gps issue. Just follow the standard gps fixing method by using mobile uncle tools. Although the camera's supposed to be improved. Don't really see much difference to be honest. Was expecting them to fix the focus. Starting to feel this is a hardware shortcoming instead of drivers.
Waiting for this one, seriously I am!
