Try htcimeiunlock.com. I have used them successfully several times -- including for my AT&T-branded Titan.

You can enter the IMEI on their web site and they'll tell you immediately whether they have a code or not. I actually did that before I even finished the check-out procedure as I was buying the Titan at a Microsoft Store (didn't want to take any chances).

TWO NEW HTC Titan (Unlocked) - 16GB - Black (AT&T) Smartphone

Hello, I bought two AT&T HTC Titan, one on ebay, the other at wireless.amazon.com, both was brand new in sealed box. The first one I unlocked with an unlock code from ebay (3.96 bucks) and works fine until I restart my phone then the unlock code is needed again. So every time I turn off or restart my Titan needs the unlock code. The second Titan bought from the AT&T store at amazon, I unlock using htcimeiunlock.com website because of the recommendations of some forums, I follow that advice and pay 25 bucks to unlock the second and guess what? happens the same that the first one. So I think is something on the ROM, a lock from at&t, I'm just guessing.
Hope this info helps. Thanks

got 2 titan's from the Microsoft challenge as well. called AT&T using my work's business accounts and requested the subsidy keys. They said it would take a few days to get it. It was the weekend, and I didn't want to wait, so I ordered 2 from ebay. Got it, tried it, and it works. But it prompts for the key everytime after a reboot, just as some of the users here are experiencing.

Received the keys from AT&T themselves and it was the same keys I purchased from ebay. Ebayers most likely get their keys directly from HTC, just as AT&T does.

Regardless, it doesn't work either way... hopefully, someone can shine some light into this!

could be a glitch on the phone or when/where the phone was made
mine was made in Taiwan

when i tried to buy the unlock code from ebay for ~$2, the guy said my phone wasn't on the old database and i would have to pay $12 to get the unlock code from him... few other people from a different forum bought the code from the same guy on ebay and got their code for $2

I bought the unlock code the a guy on ebay for 1.49 pounds or $2.44USD. Got it under a minute and the unlock code is permanent for my new Titan II

Don't pay the US guy $14 for unlock it !! The code the buy from the guy in the UK works fine.

He probably meant this seller - going to try it soon when I get to work on the titan2

Yes ... that's the seller I bought from. I sent out an e-mail to all the sellers and asked them if they can unlock the HTC Titan II. That guy answered the quickest, the other USA guy unlock_fusion wanted to charge $14.00 !!! for it ... So I'd give that UK guy a try and it works for me. Save me a bunch of $$.

I got my unlock code from ebay as well (mister unlock) and I just restarted my phone to make sure it didn't need a code every time. It didn't. I'm happy, and it looks like its just lock of the draw. :)

EDIT: Ugh, spoke too soon. My phone was in airplane mode so it didn't check the SIM. As soon as I disabled Airplane mode, the software asked me for my SIM Unlock code again. :(

don't spend money for expensive codes

Just to inform you about my unlocking experience. I bought an unlock code from ebay and of course i didn't manage to unlock the titan permanently. I bought a second code from ebay. Of course it was the same one as the first and i didn't even tried it. (As already another member declare it "here") there is no meaning to spend your money for expensive codes. I contacted "HTCimeiUnlock Help Center" and asked them if their 10 times more expensive code (comparing with ebay's lowest) could unlock the phone. After 24 hours no reply..........

Was that the only code you've ever used?
Yeah, my first time. I was expecting situation just like everyone else but I rebooted and didnt get the prompt again.

Its luck of the draw, I think. Either a code will unlock permanently or it won't. If the first code unlocks it but doesn't unlock it permanently, no code will unlock it permanently.
I agree. This sums it up well.
