Successfully repaired my HTC Sensation!

(this is for people who have knowledge in electronics. And I am not responsible for whatever you do to your phone.Do at your own risk)

I Had bought a sensation off ebay and it was dead bricked, not charging and anytime I would connect it to my pc it would ask for QHSUSB_DLOAD drivers.Ebay Seller said it just woke up one day in this state.

I tried the method proposed by this thread unsuccessfully. but now i got it fixed!!!

I realised the issue is the same as "XBOX360 RROD"

What you need:

_Torx srewdrivers(for taking the phone apart)
_Hot air gun
_Two hands

1- start by taking the phone apart(I am sure you can find a guide on youtube or ifixit for this) we only need the bottom part which is the main board.

2-you will need to remove the metal sheets that protect the qualcomm chips(and also the one that has the simcard and sd slots

3-now we proceed to what we call the reballing(see attached video)

*watch out!!! Make sure you start with a low temperature so you warm up the board and keep a circular motion everytime as shown in video
Then switch to a higher temperature!!!!!!FOCUS ON THE QUALCOMM CHIP BUT KEEP THE CIRCULAR MOTION!!!!!

DON'T EXCEED 2 MINUTES OR ELSE YOUR BOARD COULD MELT DOWN.

4-give it 30 minutes to 1 hour to cool down

5-put it back together and behold the resurrection!!!

seriously? WTF has reballing to do with that? Reballing would work if there was any damage to the soc connections, but thats nearly impossible to happen. This is plain rubbish and highly dangerous. Go find another thread to spam

actually, this can happen with the phone aswell as with graphics card...if phone overheats too much the soc pin connections can loosen up and therefore phone can stop working...and this is the same procedure to get the old(overheating) gpu working,i did it myself on 3 gpu's and it worked flawlesly...if someone doesnt have warranty and wants to somehow try and repair his phone he might wanna try this as he doesnt have anything to lose...

the chances of connections loosening on the SOC are pretty low though, so its almost impossible to happen. If it does though, then it is a considered a hardware fault and its pretty much your last hope, before the bin. QHSUSB_DLOAD can mean dozens of things/errors, ranging from software to hardware issues. This thread is about software issues, that one is due to faulty hardware. RMA'ing is the best way to go though, than heating up your motherboard

But now i have another problem. i had it before to brick my phone. now my phone it's like new ( S-ON, Bootloader locked, everything is stock ), but i have wifi error and mac adress unavailable. that error have showed up when i made ICS update ( OTA ). And from June till now, it is present and i can't get wifi again up... is there any solution for that? i have tried everyting. Stock ROM's..GB..ICS..custom ROM's..s-on..s-off..with and without sim or card memory. i think i made everyting. Sensation s...'s on this part and like i'd seen here and there, i'm not a singular case :(:crying::crying::crying:

Sorry Dexter if I spammed your thread but as your post started with "HTC unbricking project" at first then finally became "UNBRICK",I thought it was ok to share my experience with other users since my sensation was in a bricked state.you almost make me feel sorry that I took my time to share with the community.
But as far as I can see my phone is working good without any issues. So before judging people you should think twice.
I mean no offense.

I am glad that your phone is operational again, but I have to say that you are extremely lucky. I didn't mean offence, I just wanted to state that the cases when reballing is needed are really special and certainly won't fix any type of brick, as some might think. See, most people following this thread looking to unbrick, are people that have no idea of what they did on their device. It is proven that there is always that one idiot who tries what he sees before he even reads what it does. I was trying to stress the fact that this is 1. Extremely dangerous 2. Rare situations need it and therefore try to stop any hurrying monkey from melting his motherboard. Thanks again for your contribution and sorry for the misunderstanding :)

I've been told by Ganesh that my emmc has gone bad (upon a failed firmware update)...He said that I should brick my phone by flashing an incorrect S-on, and then send the device in to HTC for repairs. Dexter, can you confirm that this would work?
