[UNBRICK] HTC Unbricking Project

I've been told by Ganesh that my emmc has gone bad (upon a failed firmware update)...He said that I should brick my phone by flashing a incorrect S-on, and then send the device in to HTC for repairs. Dexter, can you confirm that this would work?

It worked! I needed to return my device back..so I S-ON'd and turned the phone into a brick! Nothing was working until I saw your thread. It did take me some time coz, but it worked!
Here are my findings:
- Doesn't work on VM! (I have an iMac)
- Be patient !!

This is what I did (on Windows 7 64 bit)
- Downloaded the LiveCD in the forum
- Downloaded the right version of the solution
- Boot on the Linux LiveCD
- Followed the sequence as mentioned in the forum
- I did get an error at the end saying it couldn't back up, which I ignored
- And then voila, charged the phone and RUU the ROM

Its back to life!

For some reason ubuntu 10.04 will not detect my device. I'm getting this error "Device can't be detected. Check connections" I followed all the instruction including disabling automoun, etc. Can you please tell me another way i can get my device to detect? Thank You

Are you using USB hubs / USB 3.0 ports? If so, then try again without them. Everything is pretty much listed in the Notes section..
If you still have issues though, try with a new USB cable

Screen shows nothing, can't boot, no vibration when press power button.

Connecting phone to PC and windows prompt searching QHSUSB_DLOAD.

Plug the phone in a wall charger and leave it over night. Then flash a RUU

Never tested this on the Inc S. I doubt it will work, but you are free to use the brickdetect script and report if anything comes up. If it doesn't, then it will not work

thx for replaing could u please tell me how to flash a ruu as i am not able to get into the hboot i only get this
1st i charge for 1 hour the red light blink then it stops and a sensation logo pops up and get sutck for 10 min then screen goes black last ...... again all the same
i will try to charge it full night but i dont know how to flash ruu

If you can detect the device in adb, then use this command:

adb reboot bootloader

That should take you to the bootloader

NO IT ONLY turns the screen black i have tried that anything else i think that the bootloader is not present in my device as i bricker it when i using superwipe on my phone any way i can flash bootloader

Hi Harbir,

Can you access recovery mode? I don't think your phone is bricked, if you fullwiped your phone and didn't install a Rom, then your phone is behaving accordingly. Did you start your own thread in the Q&A section? If not you should try there in first. Do describe the more accurately possible what you were doing and for what purpose. It will be easier for anyone to help you, this actual thread isn't really the good place at this moment.

My sensation got bricked while I was changing the firmware and i screwed up.
I'm not sure if my sensation can be fixed but I tried anyways. So i unloaded the package in the home. Then i opened the terminal then I typed the words, but it says device cant be detected, i did remove battery and stuff. Any help? Thanks

I did some reading and it says that it has to be in QUSB_DLOAD mode or something, so i saw a video on how to get my sensation to be in detected that way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pcxt6nKI10

So once it was in that mode, i removed everything and ocnnected it to my ubuntu but somehow it still doesnt get detected. And when i put in the battery and sd card and plug it to my windows, the device manager doesnt detect my phone again.
