afaik, you can't rename those files, only the folder. are you sure it is the correct firmware files for your device?

What is your device? Try, before actually plugging in the phone, hold down the volume up button or both or volume down or power button. Trial and error method :D

I have tried everything on a Lenovo A6000 and no matter which tool I use I get the sahara error. Qfil gives fail:sahara and Lenovo downloader gets stuck on step Sahara. The phone is recongized when I connect it to Qfil holding VOL UP and VOL DOWN but I cannot figure out why it keeps getting this error. I have now spent over 10 hours trying to flash this Lenovo A6000 with its stock ROM with no joy and people here absolutely refuse to reply or help me at all.

Should I throw the phone in the trash and forget about it? Because at this point I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing works.....

"people here absolutely refuse to reply or help me at all"?
well, we are not a customer service who get paid for answering, I'm afraid. but to some of your peace of mind, could you kindly inform us what's the error codes, and have you read all previous replies that might solve your problem?

OK good then why dont you guys just shut down the forum then? Why is it even here in the first place when guys like you leave rude comments and remarks?

You know I have personally contributed money to a couple of the developers here for their work. I didn't know it was a BIG problem to ask for help. But thanks to your reply....I understand that I shouldn't and it was a big mistake.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried everything and nothing works.

lol, rude comments? I was asking a question politely, kiddo. what was the error code?
and about shutting down this forum is not ours to decide. I don't know how much you spent for those developers you mentioned, but they're not ALL the people here, they're just a few among hundreds others.

again, I'm asking, politely, what was the error code? and kindly tell us every method you did for solving your problem.

Download Fail:System.Exception: Failed to Switch to Emergency Download mode
I assumed that there's the problem of communication between your PC and your phone. maybe the port or the cable. try to change cable, driver, or check your device port.

The truth is . . .

This error occurred because your bootloader is locked , YOU MUST ENTER 9008 MODE WITH TEST POINT WAY to bypass this lock. entering eld mode with buttons and fastboot is only for phones with unlocked bootloader.

so i have a LG K20 (mp260) from MetroPCS, and like a fool, i flashed a rom that wasnt compatible...
its now hard bricked. my computer can only recognize it now as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)" in the "Ports" section of the device manager. the device itself cant turn on for nothing, there are no lights, no vibrations. but my computer can read it...

i have minimal knowledge on this stuff and ive been at this for almost a week now and how found nothing but the QFIL program that looked promising. ive installed all the appropriate drivers and give it the appropriate files (i hope):
Programmer: prog_emmc_firehose_8936.mbn
XML: rawprogram0.xml with the patch: patch0.xml
the files were manually extracted from my own phones stock .KDZ
i have seen others use rawprogram files such as "rawprogram_unsparse_without_qcn", and "rawprogram_unsparse". i dont know how to obtain these files and if they would help my problem.
(note: im using QFIL 2.0.1.7 and ive tried numerous previous versions:crying:)

apon pressing the "download" button, it says:

im getting tired of seeing this log lol. but as you can see the problem (from i can see) is that its getting stuck at the "Sahara" bit. i cant seem to fix this to save my life. and ive littrally tried everything!
yes including putting the firmware files into the "bin" folder of the program and stuff like that...
fastbooting wont work either as the screen is always black and the computer never sees it as a device, but a port.

i turned to creating this post as a last resort, for if i cant find an answer here, im afraid ill just have to use the phone for parts or something:crying:. please! if anyone has suggestion or a solution that i haven't tried yet it would be truly appreciated!

Hi all,

I had the same sahara fail problem.

Fixed it by goind to developper options and allow Unlock bootloader ! TRY

It does not mean you actually unlock it, but I guess it allows QFIL to do its thing. All tutorials about flashing with QFIL don't mention it!

Good luck

I got the same Sahara error first(protocol fail error), but when I uninstall old qulacom driver and installed the one which came with QFLI, it worked and after flashing my phone is working.

com error maybe resolved by rebooting phone and starting in download mode( press vol+ and vol- and connect usb cable).

Before trying to flash also check for qulcom com port in device manager to ensure phone is connected and is in download mode.

bricked phones maybe unlocked by fastboot

1. reboot to boot loader using option in bios menu (vol+ and power on boot)
2. connect usb
3. open a terminal from folder where fastboot is installed or navigate to directory
4. run "fastboot devices" # to check if your device is connected
5. run "fastboot flashing unlock" or "fastboot oem unlock" for old devices. #to unlock bootloder
6. run "fastboot reboot" #to reboot phone

then try using QFLI again

Best of luck.::D
