I was aware of this issue with customers firmware when I had p20.

When I vote mate 20 on three I set the phone up without a SIM in it at first.

When I did put my SIM in it said I then had an update but this was just for carrier settings. I've chosen not to install as the phone works fine for calls and messages and internet etc.

As such I do not have any of the bloat ware or splash screen.

I do still keep getting a reminder though saying an update is ready to install. I'd like to try and find a way to delete that if anyone knows.
Yes that’s the situation I am in now I.e. getting nagged to install the Three firmware. It appears to be an older version than the stock firmware. So two good reasons not to install it. I’ve no Idea if it causes any other updates not to happen though.

I have found how to delete it now however the phone regularly downloads it at night ready to install again. I'm just hoping by going this way I might get offered the other update as it sees the phone as not being carrier branded

I'm not one who got a watch/charger - only bought the phone just over 2 weeks back (on a wednesday evening), submitted the request for the Talkband B5 the next day. Had an email yesterday from Huawei stating that the Talkband was in the post, and it turned up today. Just over two weeks from request to receiving it.

(This is a Vodafone UK order, bought directly from Vodafone)

Did you have to submit proof of purchase etc?

I got my handset from 3 on contract but was not preorder. Could I claim also?

I think this deal is only available to Vodafone customers - haven't seen any such thing referenced on promotional material from any of the other networks - one of the screens in town popped up about the "Huawei Mate 20 Pro on Vodafone, with free talkband" (or something to that effect)

Little narked. The Talkband is physically very nice, but mine is faulty. The step counting doesn't work and the silent alarm (which I really do make major use of) doesn't work either. So sending a mail off to the people who sent it out. Wish I could do it in person - I almost drive past Huawei UK on my way home (they're in Green Park, Reading), and the company who organised the shipment have an office about 10 minutes walk from home.

Wonder how good they'll be with responding to such queries. Watch this space.

Same here, approved on 11th, delivered today, happy, finally.
Driver said it has been plenty parcels from Huawei so it must have been busy for them...
Sorry if I missed something. Was I meant to apply somewhere for the wristband? I got the vodafone black friday deal too

Hi Guys - not sure if this the right thread for this but i will give it a shot, as its mainly for UK customers;

My Pro had the #HulkScreen Issues and i have contacted Huawei for a replacement. Spoken with their support this morning, i was told that the replacement is a refurbished device - WTF ??? We buy a brand new device, its faulty from the factory and we get back a refurbished one???

Thoughts?

Just got my replacement unit & it had the original stickers on the back but the box wasn't sealed. I was told when I rang up Huawei I would get a brand new replacement.

So I am taking it that's wheat I have got. How can we tell if it's a refurbished unit?

I've just ordered my 2nd replacement phone from Vodafone, they offered me a choice of other handsets, I was close to getting the Pixel 3XL but decided to stick with 1 more replacement which is that has the green screen issue then I prob will switch to something else.
