since android 7 you can flash from dload folder* Service ROM only (FW from androidhost.ru). Using update.app from fullOTA-MF firmware the process will stuck at 5% and error message.
You can rollback to A7 via HiSuite only, don't try do it with dload method, it may brick your phone.
Try chinese HiSuite
https://consumer.huawei.com/cn/support/hisuite/
Btw, Service ROM (dload FW) for WAS-LX2C185 can be found here (for 17 €/USD :( )
https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=folder&id=25675
There is no service ROM for my phone on Android host.ru (at least I cant find one) and If I try the Chinese Hisuite will it downgrade to the right ROM for my phone?

I tried this option some weeks ago with my Huawei P20 Lite, I managed to downgrade to EMUI 8 with Hisuite but I couldn't downgrade to a build older than June 2018 patch.
I tried to downgrade further with the update.app method but a error message shows up saying this: Software install failed.
I tried to find a solution but after a long time, I decided to give up and restore EMUI 9.1.
How can I fix this error?

When Flashing TWRP file for changing the Bootloader unlocking code

The last file that we're suppose to flash with TWRP do i flash it after patch 8.0.180 that is the EMUI9.1? or must i flash it before the update to EMUI9.1 while i have the latest patch on EMUI8?

You need to flash it before updating to EMUI 9.1 because the bootloader will be relocked when you update.

Do I need to have a empty micro SD card for downgrading or can I use one with some files on it?

I try to unlock fastboot. I downgraded the emui 9.1 to 8.0. I try to get de FBLock value but the result is this picture above. First I looked if my device was connected and it was because I did get the device number. When I want the FBLock value, its waiting for a device so how can I solve this and get the FBLock value.

Same here :-(
What would be your recommendation to get to an unlocked bootloader?
As I just glued the back of the phone back on. I would like to prevent a method were I need to open the phone again.

Ok seems like I have to open it again.
As my phone is on Android 8 but security patch level Nov. 2008. As far as I understood so far, there is no save way to get the downgrade needed or do miss I something?

You can safely downgrade to the lower Oreo build number using Service ROM. What is your current build number (from "About phone")?

I'm on ANE-LX1 8.0.0.146(C461)

Anyhow I've used the PotatoNV method and it worked nearly on the first attempt.

If I understand correctly, I can now unlock the Bootloader again, even after system upgrade by using this code in Fastboot - correct?

Just out of curiosity, what would have been the corect way to downgrade from C461 as I could just find version above the June 2008 one.

each bootloader code is permanent, it won't expire (except motherboard replacement etc.).

Download correct Service ROM from androidhost.ru website, unpack .zip archive , find dload file in "Software" folder, and simply transfer it to the SD card, without unpacking it!
Turn off your phone and flash FW using three button combo. The process will erase all your data! (and will lock the bootloader ).

Hi Alf,
I hope this is not to offtopic - nevertheless I've updated the phone with the dialer code *#*#2846579#*#* ==> Software Upgrade ==> SdCard Upgrade dload method to 9.1.0.370 (C432) . Is it normal, that by this way the phone is still unlocked and not wiped at all?

Cheers and thank you for your support
