Right...so what now ? LG doesn't allow me to register

Same here, I can't create an LG developer account . Is anyone else having this issue too?

Ok trying to install the recovery thing, managed to boot the phone into the boot loader, but when i try to do anymore it wont work......ive put the 2 files [recovery / superuser thing] in my DOWNLOAD folder of my phone

C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot boot TWRP2861.img
cannot load 'TWRP2861.img': No such file or directory

Place supersu on your phone and twrp in your adb folder on your computer... Then run fastboot Boot again

Recovery Flash

Guys hello! i have a problem with my lgg4. I can't get it into flashed recovery anyway!! The flash is complete but when i try to get inside i just can't(power+vol_up)! Can you help me? My phone is now unlocked but i cannot root it or change rom!

Where do i put the unlock.bin file ?

[EDIT] Never mind. i had to close CMD then start it without admin permissions. then move unlock.bin to C:/users/name

where did you put fastboot?


option 1. put unlock.bin to system32

option 2. fastboot flash unlock c:\mypath\unlock.bin

This method soft bricked my phone as well. For solution; just install the lg bridge software and click on "error state" or that kind of prompt on the bottom right corner of the software. It will download a 1.5gb file and get your phone back to stock.
TLDR: THIS METHOD WILL BRICK MARSHMALLOW INSTALLED DEVICES.

Does this just revert the section with TWRP and SuperSU or does it revert the unlocking of the bootloader too?

Yes you can unlock your bootloader.But if you want to stay on lollipop you dont need to unlock your bootloader.

You need to flash SuperSU 2.72.Now with LG UP reflash 20d kdz and repeat all points, but this time flash SuperSU 2.72.

Okay, I have flashed TWRP 3 times using 3 different methods ( adb shell, flashify, twrp manager) and every time I try to get into it just boots into the LG blue&white factory reset menu????

After instaling super su, LG g4 is stuck at LG logo. I can get into recovery mode, but when i click restore and erase device it is also stuck on LG logo.

What to do?

Nevermind, the reson was old Super su, i flashed again V20D and then repeated compete procedure.

I am having a hard time getting this to work.

I am on 6.0 and downloaded and installed the drivers, enabled developer options, enabled oem unlock, and usb debugging, then adb rebooted into the bootloader, but when I try "fastboot oem device-id" all I get is: FAILED (remote: unknown command) . I can't seem to get it to work and I haven't been able to find much online. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

Question about rooting

Hi,

I have a question seeing how this method is from 2015 is this still the best way to do it? I already unlocked my bootloader through the LG dev website. but can I follow these steps and root my phone safely? I am on Marshmallow 6.0. Hope to hear from you.
