For my european g4 (unlockable bootloader) is it recommended to use the method on the OP, or use the new rooting method (for most variants) that was published yesterday?

Unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty. This one will not.

Has anyone analyzed this unlock.bin file? Are there some of them online we can look at? Would be interested to see if there are any interesting patterns to it.

Apparently I have the USA variant of the h815? I try to get an unlock file via lgs site but gives me an error saying that my USA device cannot be unlocked.

In the future will we be able to unlock bl?

No, not using the LG website. They've said no other models will be available to unlock.

Correct. All you can do is root.

Looks like Portuguese TMN / MEO also has a no go on LG unlock.bin

I'm thinking that these codes must be made by some algorythms so... anyone knows any software that might calculate them?
I've seen them for sony xperia and some others.... May be I could find a way to do it...

But I have never seen an LG G4 unlock.bin file.
OR L G4 calculations.

Any ideas?

Im trying to track down a h815 eur thats unlockable shipped to US i thought all european country codes should be unlockable?

They are unlockable. Phones sold through certain carriers (i.e. "3", or "Three") are not, however. Not sure how they differ from the common h815, though. The standard European G4 should be unlockable, regardless of country.

Hi,

I tried to unlock the bootloader but I get this message on the LG website :

"Unfortunately, your device(France, (SFR(FRANCE)) )does not support unlocking the bootloader."

Does it means that the unlock depend also of the operator (SFR in this case)?

I bought an unlock code to be able to put my SIM card (not SFR). Will I be able to unlock the bootloader after that?

Sounds like that's a branded H815 (specifically belonging to mobile company SFR).
Only the unbranded EU H815s can be unlocked using LG's Dev site.

And no, a SIM unlock code will now allow you to unlock the bootloader.

I don't see how with and ext sd card slot on the device anyone loses anything these days?

Is the H815p compatible with this method? It's an international version sold by LG Lebanon. And btw what are the advantages of unlocked bootloader apart twrp now that we can flash img ?
