from 1st september official unlock works for every european h815, regardless of the carrier, as stated here http://developer.lge.com/community/...nuId=55&contsTypeCode=NOT&prodTypeCode=MOBILE

i tried when i bought the phone and the site was saying the phone was not unlockable (3UK) now i tried again and i just received my unlock.bin in the mail....finishing my backup then trying :)

edit
Bootloader unlock successfull...happy boy over here, and my data is not been deleted too :D

We have no plans to support bootloader unlock in previously launched models or other variants of G4.
Cool, so after one of the major factors for me to choose the G4 was that bootloader unlocking was officially supported and would be coming to more devices, now it's not coming after all to us Canadian suckers. More reason to keep digging for an unofficial unlock...

Still no unlock for the US Giveaway version of the H815. Surprised since they don't give any support (updates and the like) for this phone that they are not allowing for it to be unlocked at the moment.

"Unfortunately, your device (Singapore) does not support unlocking"

I purchased an "unlocked" G4 (LGH815) from Amazon. After going through the painful unlocking procedure, the process failed at the last step, emailing the unlock bin from LG, with the message "Unfortunately, your device (Singapore(ARROW(SINGAPORE))) does not support unlocking the bootloader.

Any advice on how I can root this device, please? Thanks.

Unlocked means not network/carrier locked. it doesn't mean bootloader unlocked.

You can root using the low effort root in the original dev forum.

edit : As of today - 28th June, this method ONLY works on the H815 EU models
LG G4 H815 10D - installed successfully TWRP 2.8.7.0 and ROOT-ed with SuperSU 2.46

Thank you :good: :)

Edit: having problems with TWRP 2.8.7.0 (overwrited by system recovery on each reboot) , installed TWRP 2.8.6.1 and now seems to be OK .

Thanks for the tutorial,my g4 has root and twrp :)
Now the big question: If I flash a kdz file to update to latest FW, will I loose twrp and the bootloader will relock??

Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Free mobile app

You will lose root and TWRP.
The bootloader stays unlocked.
That's good news then!
I mean at least I won't have to go into unlocking process and wipe all internal user data :D
So I just have to pick the no data wipe option in KDZ flashing to update from 10e to 10h (using kdz 10h file), then use the OP tutorial starting from the point after the G4 has the unlocked bootloader right?

That's it, precisely.
Use the "Normal" flash within LG Flash Tool 2014. Your app data won't be deleted.
Once flashed, install TWRP and Root.

Hi, i may well be posting in the wrong bit here, so apologies in advance...and please forgive my lack of lnowledge, still learning lol-

If i may pose a question regarding inlocking the bootloader via lg official meathod - i would like to know, if i use titanium backup to store system and app data, could i unlock the bootloader, install twrp or cwm recovery and then restore my stuff via titanium?

I am using lg g4 815 v10c - rooted

Thank you all in advance!

For the people having this issue...

ah, thought they were supposed to show on the phone screen.

not sure what you mean by shutting the cmd window? I just get stuck on that "waiting for device" message in cmd, at which point I unplugged the phone, did a battery pull and tried again. I've tried about 5 times now, I double checked everything, have all the drivers installed etc.

Oh, and I do have the h815 EU version of the G4. I'll keep digging.
this helped me, hope it helps some people. Sadly my phone was made in taiwan which i find stupid from lg since it is still the h815 :(
