I have an originally unlocked on the old update Verizon pixel 2 if I can be of any help with partitions and such that you may not be able to access on your device.
If you could dump /dev/block/by-device/ lockbooter_a and device_info would be a huge help. I have a feeling our answer resides there.

These we're actually under /by-name/ I don't have a /by-device/. The closest thing that I have to device info is the devinfo file. Hope this helps. It was just a copy operation using a file explorer if not I can dump it from PC.

It would be in your best interest to create a new new thread that addresses your particular device, issues, and possible resolutions. You don't have Verizon phones, so anyone that is looking for a resolution to their locked Google RMA, and can possibly help you, probably isn't following this thread. You'll get more assistance that way.

I'm looking for an unlock for everyone, and am trying to get people onboard. Many more people have verizon phones than RMA devices, and there have already been several RMA threads that died. I can gladly do so on my own without sharing my findings though if that is better and people prefer it.

Can you dump all of /by-name/ please?

This is just what I needed!

No unfortunately I'm trying to dump an entire partition. I managed to get busybox without root but it's giving me back a small file full of symlinks. I'll figure it out I hope!
Have you seen this bit about changing properties? I don't know how to do it but its logical per my understanding of how this works. I think this is saying our answer is a kernel parameter in addition to the protocol discussed earlier (not the Sim card disco the original protocol) any thoughts?

I just got off the phone with Google "Preferred Care" support about this issue. They said they're gonna send me a new one, but marked it for their warehouse to make sure it comes with an unlocked bootloader. We'll find out what happens! (I'm posting this for the RMAed locked device people. :p )

I'm more hopeful then before. But I still doubt it'll work. Seems a little "too" perfect.

I don't have a buildbot folder on my device. I'm currently running the latest Android P release. I also tried locating the qcom pkg folder but have not found. I'm looking in the root storage.

Thanks for looking, I'll see what I can drum up. It may be a hidden partition.

Do you have mmc1? I think it may be part of that

I'm using an app called root explorer. I'll try to use adb from my computer at home. Let me know if you find anything.

I don't have anything that's says mmc1. Maybe it's how I'm doing it.whay is the traditional way to explore these partitions?

Root Explorer works too!

Try /dev/block/mmc1

I didn't forget about this, had some stuff come up so didn't have as much time the past couple days but I'm not giving up!
Don't give up. And please, let me know if I can do anything to help. I don't understand very much how unlocking the bootloader works, buy if anything I'm here.
