Absolutely fantastic method, but it fails right at the end for me. It might be because my model is LYA-L09 and I'm trying to recover with the new .171 firmware?

Everything works uptown the point of flashing system.

Has anyone with LYA-L09 successfully flashed?

Do you have credits, or do you have a pass? Email support so we know which user you are and can figure out what the problem might be.

EDIT: It appears you're using a pass tied to another phone. You need another account with a pass for this phone, or with credits. A pass is for only one phone.

ahhh sorry I thought I could as I no longer have the P20 Pro or I do but it's dead....no revival

I was able to download and get as far as installing though....:good:

Could I transfer this over to the Mate 20 Pro? Would be extremely kind of you as I can then use, as my P20 Pro has no chance of coming back to life .

So no problems updating my phone to the 9.0.0.171 firmware.. It would appear to have changed the region to a C432 (Global or Euro?) coming from an AUSC636 9.0.0.126 firmware.. Google pay seems to be still in place but will test that later once I try and purchase something.. Fingerprint sensor definitely a vast improvement.. Face unlock faster.. GPS appears to be using both bands as I'm seeing dual sat fixes from same sat ID numbers in GPS test app.. Will post anymore feedback once I notice it.

If it needs safetynet it won't work until the build is safetynet certified.

I reset my mate 20 pro after the 171 from the 122 update and the firmware didn't come with the magazine lock feature and a few Huawei apps? How come?

These are new phones, so we don't have enough history of testing to know whether or not updates will come easily. It will depend entirely on Huawei. You might get an update from Huawei, you might not. FH does nothing to prevent it, it's all up to Huawei.

Regarding branding, it will probably quasi-remove it. What I mean is, you will have a software on the phone which isn't your original carrier branded software. However the phone's actual branding does not change.

Is it possible to actually downgrade the firmware and go back to the stock firmware I had on it from my carrier before upgrading to 171 via the FH method?

Note that it's a bit complicated. Make sure to follow the instructions EXACTLY. Don't skip any steps.

The LYA-Global section firmware is for all LYA-L29 and all LYA-L09. Doesn't matter what C version.

I have now successfully updated to .171 and the option to unlock our bootloader's is whew just fantastic.

However I may or may not move on from the Mate 20 Pro, the Mi Mix 3 palace edition is grabbing my attention. It just depends on if I can get the Global Rom on it, as Chinese ROMs are not great .

We shall see....

Had same problem. I just kept opening HiSuite again until the update processs completed. It took me about an hour to update. It also got stuck a couple times for me while installing the firmware and I ended up booting my phone then going back into fastboot mode and starting over. Eventually 171 successfully installed but not sure it was worth so much trouble.

If you stick with it the process will complete eventually .
