LG won't change. They don't care about us. It's likely 1% of sales or less for people that care about BL unlock.

Load stock 5.1.1 root it, load xposed, tweaks box etc and enjoy the device. Otherwise sell it and get something else and move on.

If BL unlock is important do research before getting your next device.

Exactly. When I researched this device, I thought "Hey, it has root and Xposed. I'm good to go.". I'm defenitely never going for a phone with a locked bootloader ever again. To add to that, I'm most likely never buying an LG phone ever again as well due to the motherboard failure I along with a bunch of other people experienced.

The bootloader will be unlocked eventually. The petition may work. If not some developer etc will crack the bootloader and share the way to do it or create a program. Its been done so many times before, if your stuck with the G4 like others just calm down and wait for someone to do it. LG is a good brand. Every device has its faults. I haven't had any experience with a locked bootloader previously and I assumed that it will never be unlocked. I'm as patient as the next guy when it comes to these things as the previous platform I was using was equally as hard to unlock if I understand correctly. Plus it helps that I can't afford to purchase a new device in a long time. But I guess I'll take your word for it and hope that it gets unlocked sometime in the future.

Definitely. I just never had a fatal hardware fault cause me data loss and time (by having it repaired). Don't get me wrong. I commend their warranty, it's just that something like that, in my opinion should be subject to a recall and immediate replacement rather than waiting for our devices to go bye bye.

Im in the same exact position as you. I purchased the phone on a contract. Kinda disappointed I cant put custom roms or recoverys onto the G4, Cant afford to buy a new phone outright. But hey my backup is to sell it and by the Blu Pure Xl. Same phone, just a little better my opinion and its 500$ total here in Canada. If stuff doesnt work out you could always sell it right?

Hoping all the hounding of LG employees does turn out good though ? we need daat bootloader unlocked.

Probably someone will unlock our bootloaders or LG might roll out one too. But the device itself is great. Of course it's better if we can flash ROMs and other mods, have root and all that.

Really, i have Lg h818p and its been a year and i am happy because the phone is ****ing awesome.
But i wanted to install some custom roms but unable to do that because of locked bootloader but i m running UX 5.0 Genisys ROM.
