Thanks, so is better not to unlock is i'm not going out of the USA ?I was able to, but i had to dial 11 digit numbers to call (or phone force closed) no matter what i did to the assist dialing settings. (11 digit number would be 1-area code-city code-number, like 1(234)567-8901
I would wait, you can even build a second 'unlock' build.prop and keep it on /system named build.prop.unlock and just change names when you leave the country. I tried to /cust unlock but don't have a SIM to try out with so no idea off it worked, though it did not mess up my dialing. Thanks, so is better not to unlock is i'm not going out of the USA ?

oh yeah good idea, but if you get unlock and use it in another country.. what happens with the +1 error?I would wait, you can even build a second 'unlock' build.prop and keep it on /system named build.prop.unlock and just change names when you leave the country. From my understanding that only affects it in the USA.oh yeah good idea, but if you get unlock and use it in another country.. what happens with the +1 error?
Used a different editor. Root Explorer is having issues with editing build.props. DroidEdit Pro is good.for some reason when I edit mine, it will only allow me to type OPE when I try to write OPEN, how were u able to get last letter in lol
Are you really surprised? You're not on Sprint's network any more, so Sprint isn't going to be processing your calls or sending them to the Sprint VM app. How could Sprint possibly give you voicemail for a call that never touches the Sprint network?I do not receive voicemail notifications while unlocked using a GSM carrier - thanks Sprint.
Has anyone found a way to make it work? Thanks
Of course it doesn't come from Sprint. Lots of things change with a simple build.prop edit - things that aren't possible when the configuration is set to Sprint. Just wondering if someone found a way to make the Phone app handle voicemails the way it does on true GSM phones so that notifications work properlyAre you really surprised? Just use a voicemail app. Youmail is pretty good.Of course it doesn't come from Sprint. Is it from sprint and did you used the steps from OP?This is great man!!!
My phone was not activated and im now using it with a Mexican carrier (telcel) with no problems
Im using a straight talk att sim in my ls990zv4 getting hsdpa+
I didn't edit the build.prop because i soft bricked it the first time. All i did was:What changes did you made to build.pro? or just the SPR to spr.
Thanks for sharing the info.I didn't edit the build.prop because i soft bricked it the first time. All i did was:
1. Insert Straight Talk ATT sim
2. Set mobile networks to GSM/UMTS
3. Go to system updates and select update PRL
4. After its updated go back to mobile networks and switch it from global back to GSM/UMTS (it will auto switch when you update prl)
5. Go to roaming in settings and scroll to the bottom and set APN
6. Download Signal Check or Signal Check Pro from the play store to show data signal in the status bar
7. The no sim icon will still be in the status bar but you can remove ot with tweakboxand set carrier text
YOU WILL HAVE TO REPEAT THIS EVERYTIME YOU REBOOT YOUR PHONE SO ITS TEMPORARY UNTIL WE GET FULL UNLOCK
PLEASE SHARE AND GIVE THANKS
I will be making my own thread so i will post the link please bring all questions thereThanks for sharing the info.
I got a Sprint LG G3 and am trying to use it with AT&T Straight Talk SIM. When I select 'Update PRL' in the step 3 above, I get an error message 'Authentication Error. Please try again later'. The network mode stays at 'GSM/UMTS'.
What can I try to troubleshoot this?
Both of those are related to whatever you set the operator to. System updates probably don't show if you set it to TMO or ATT. Setting it to either of those 2 will always result in showing 1 bar of service, although your dBm measurement will still be correctWhere is "system updates" located?
Also, I am only showing 1 bar of service. Does anyone know if this is normal? It doesn't change no matter my location.
