Unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP - issues

Hi all, could I respectfully ask for some advice. I've unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP. Having placed SuperSU onto the internal memory and opened TWRP there is no superSu found within the directory. Nothing at all. It's not within a folder, I didn't unzip superSu before placing into internal memory. I've checked and double checked. Now I'm doubting what I've done and not sure what direction to take. Can I do anything else? The phone is fine, working ok with no issues. But the whole TWRP thing is weird. Any advice would be appreciated.
