So I purchased a unlocked p6p from BestBuy and it appears to be a TMobile version. Because it won't accept any other sim. I tried a the unlock app and it failed. Then I tried to chat with T-Mobile and they had to send a message to Google to unlock it. Has anyone else experienced this kinda issue?

On the label on the box it reads TMO SKU

If the phone is advertised as unlocked and is clearly NOT unlocked, why not talk to BestBuy and get a replacement? It's not your job to contact the potential carrier.

You bought a six-cylinder car and got the electric version. That's not your problem, you don't have to fix it, just tell the dealer to get you the one that you ordered. Return it and demand a new one, or get your money back.

It's clearly the wrong product.

Not to mention the fact that still amuses me: Why do you guys over the big pond still have BS like "locked" devices? Courts in Europe & politics had fixed that cr*p years ago*, there are no unlocked or locked devices over here. Every phone has to work with any carrier, and that's the end of it. Stop getting ripped off by companies. Simply don't support companies that lock devices, it's a ****ty anti consumer practice and makes no sense at all.

*Countries in the European Union (EU) each have their own legislation on SIM locking, but must comply with the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (Directive 2005/29/EC of 2005)

The problem with "unlocked" is that it can mean more than one thing. Unless it is clearly defined what unlocked actually means, then you have to assume that they are talking about the screen lock, because scammers will scam.

I.e. System Settings --> Security --> Screen Lock --> None.

Sim unlocked?
Firmware unlocked?

Not sure if that was a joke or sarcasm, in case it wasn't, I just looked up the Bestbuy article

-> https://www.bestbuy.com/site/google-pixel-6-pro-256gb-unlocked-stormy-black/6483638.p?skuId=6483638

and it explicitly says

"Carrier: Unlocked, Sprint, At&T, verizon, T-Mobile".

So that's definitely not a scam in terms of description, it states "carrier".
