Guys - I have a HTC Titan ATT locked phone. I am trying to use it with TMobil - have the unlock code from ebay, but every time it boots, it asks for code that is a great nuisance. I have HSPL but stuck on radio 16. So none of the custom roms work for me that require radio 17.

Can anyone please point me to a ROM that is fully unlocked and uses Radio 16?

Thanks

You need to insert the T-Mobile sim card into the phone; it will then ask for the subsidy unlock code, you punch it in and you will never have to punch that code in again; you're done! If your device is HSPL you are one lucky, lucky individual. I'm not sure what you're trying to do here, the next (logical) step is to flash a custom ROM; as you see below on my signature I use Eburon 2.1. If you opt to flash a custom ROM, it's cake! As you see below I use Eburon 2.1; the required radio is 17. I flashed the ROM first and restarted the phone once again in bootloader mode and flashed the radio; once you've done both...you're good to go. If you're dead set on radio 16 you're going to have to look around for a ROM that uses it; the Dynamic and Eburon are incompatible with radio 17 as you may already know. I don't know if there are radio 16 custom/stock ROMs available here. I do my level best to stay clear of official stock ROMs, I actually lost the HSPL on my phone and it took an act of God to get it back.

Not so straight with ATT Titan

You may know this already - HTC Titan devices are having trouble with the SPL / HSPL - it seems I have HSPL on my phone but it is not letting me use any custom rom that requires radio 17. I am stuck on radio 16.

Perhaps I need a fully unlocked rom that corresponds to radio 16.

Thanks

You're right. Yesterday I sent to lund123 my 7.8 (0409 only) rom based on 2.05 OEM and radio 16. He flashed it but his phone is carrier-locked. See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141488
Not good that the guys here see no difference between custom fully unlocked rom flashing and carrier-locked devices.

Download htc titan 7.8 sianto edition al-xda developer
SIM Lock has nothing common with sianto or anything else.
Carrier lock is placed (like IMEI) in the first 256 kb region of flash data. You can not flash anything that will make some magic work. SIM unlock code should be obtained from carrier or bought online (but it must be generated with unique IMEI number of the phone)

Just to keep things in perspective - I have the 3rd party unlock code, it unlocks the phone, but fogets about it on a reboot. So it is not that I do not have an unlock code, I do.

So now I have installed a full unlocked ROM with Radio 16 from andrew, and I still continue to remain locked to ATT - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That would have been nice to know. Frankly, he's the first one I know who is HSPL but not subsidy (carrier) unlocked.

What does 3rd party unlock mean? I'm not trying to be an ass about this but is your phone subsidy unlocked or not?

3rd Party = ebay provided unlock code, and not directly from the carrier (in my mind).
