I thought the goal was to be on sw version XAA/ATT/ART?
Does samsung pay and gear vr work with this version?

Yeah not sure why people are trying to make that they're goal, doesn't make sense really. Personally I'd rather have matching service provider SW versions rather than mismatch stuff.I thought the goal was to be on sw version XAA/ATT/ART?

EDIT: Tethering also works on ATT's unlimited plan, pretty sure it skips the tethering provisioning check.Yeah not sure why people are trying to make that they're goal, doesn't make sense really. Personally I'd rather have matching service provider SW versions rather than mismatch stuff.

Samsung pay works yes and idk I haven't tried installing VR yet cause I have no wifi access. I was reading though you have to clear the app data in settings and then update it from the Samsung app store, play store or just Google it. Apkmirror is your friend hint lol

Matching makes sense, especially if you're not changing carriers. Just seeing a lot of contradicting info in different threads. If we want to go back to the complete AT&T branded G955U, would we just flash the QDE software in Odin?Yeah not sure why people are trying to make that they're goal, doesn't make sense really. I would assume so yes, haven't tried cause I'm messing around trying to root this pile, been at it for days, still no luck [emoji25]Matching makes sense, especially if you're not changing carriers. I know this might sound kind of stupid, but my s7e I never flashed and the last samsung I had before that was the S2. Been with LG for a while.

Best of luck with that. I have one more question that I haven't found an answer for. If I were to buy an unlocked s8+, directly from samsung, would the software be ATT/ATT/XAA, or XAA/XAA/XAA?I would assume so yes, haven't tried cause I'm messing around trying to root this pile, been at it for days, still no luck [emoji25]

Was crazy busy the last year. Used to be a flashaholic back in the day.Never flashed anything on the S7 edge!? That's amazing, you have strong will power lol, I would never be able to do that.

More than likely XAA x 2, but then when you insert your sim it may change. I did read a post where someone posted that they just received they're unlocked device and the U1 software version is the same version we're all using. After I did flash the att user data upon reboot the phone prompted it needed to reboot to learn new sim settings, then it boots into sim learning mode and gets all your apn's and stuff added.Best of luck with that. Should I pull the SIM while flashing then re insert, or just keep it in place?More than likely XAA x 2, but then when you insert your sim it may change. I honestly don't remember 100% but I'm about 75% sure I did not have the sim tray installed until after I flashed the ATT user data. I'm trying to get into the habit of not having the tray in there while flashing stuff as it could mess with flashing outcome.Should I pull the SIM while flashing then re insert, or just keep it in place?

It's part of the att firmware linked below in this same section. It's 8-9 threads down.Where is the "user data" that everyone is flashing at the end? I can't figure that out.
It should extract with everything else, correct?Cool, lemme know how it goes!

Sorry for all the newb questions. You didn't have to enable a pin in secure startup did you? Other threads said to when flashing with Odin. These threads are so scattered out, I can't find anything. Could you link me please to the modified (prince's) odin?Correct
Looks like all the cores are hitting good on the eng.boot so that's good to see!

Oh damnit make sure you have secure start up OFF. It's not the end of the world if you don't as long as you know your PW or PIN. It's just easier to shut it off. I would remove all your accounts also, just makes for a cleaner hassle free install.Sorry for all the newb questions. You didn't have to enable a pin in secure startup did you? You have to pull it from the AT&T S8 Plus firmware.Where is the "user data" that everyone is flashing at the end? I can't figure that out.
That's sir I do not know, I would assume it is though. Just DL it and check is all you can really do.is there a user data file for the Verizon version?
Thanks, I think I found the download information here. That's sir I do not know, I would assume it is though. Just DL it and check is all you can really do.
