There's an LS992 DLL for LGUP floating around that has this Phone Setting capability. It doesn't work with LGUP 1.14 (says invalid DLL) but does work with 1.11 for Lab, however I don't have a patch for the 1.11 LGUP.exe in order to access the other features of the DLL.
Lol of coarse i bricked my g5. Messing around. Had a sucssessful downgrade. And tried farther. Wiped all my partitions on my own accord not due to downgrade. But i feel if i can make a debrick img just like other lgs i can boot from sd card. Lol. Not stressin. Im always down for a challenge. I will figured this hard brick out....

Has anyone ever managed to use the PARTITION DL feature to successfully flash one or more partitions of the G5? Anyone know of any software that can do that outside of fastboot mode?
Did it on LG G4, should work on LG G5 too. Open the DEV LGUP and go to Partition DL. Select a file with *.img extension. The file should have the name of the partition that should be flashed on (example: you want to flash a modem file, you select modem.img).

The problem is that the patched versions of LGUP crash between clicking Start and when you should see the window asking you to select the partition to flash. I can't find a real Dev version of LGUP to try and I honestly don't know if one is even out in the wild.

For LG G4 you are not asked what partition to flash. You can flash it like I said (tested).

Just for the record. I can confirm that Smitel's method works for AT&T LG K425 phone (you are THE MAN, Smitel!!!).
I was able to follow his steps and "patch" LGUP.exe + .DLL file. The patched combination worked fine on K425 and I tested it and executed the DUMP option to have all my K425 partitions backed up now.

NOTE#1: As there is no K425 specific .DLL available, I had to take K428.DLL and patch it.

NOTE#2: I also had to play with K428.DLL file name and location to make "patched" LGUP work correctly. May be it is only my particular setup (I have no other system to mess with to verify), but after I "patched" K428.DLL, I had to rename it to "LGUP_commond.DLL" and place it in "C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common" directory. Otherwise, if I just leave "patched" K428.dDLL intact and place it under \model\8909, the "patched" version of LGUP.exe would give me an error.

NOTE#3: For the same reason as Smitel, I will not be providing the patched .EXE and .DLL files here. If you want to play with it, please spend 15 min. and make your own. The instructions Simtel provided at the beginning of this thread are pretty clear.

I hope this helps other AT&T K425 owners. Smitel's discovery opened a door to a real possibility on rooting AT&T K425. As of today the AT&T K425 bootloader was and IS a problem.
I am not a developer, but I hope that somebody with proper dev skills can use Smitel's method and with "patched" LGUP.exe finally be able to replace/modify aboot.
