i just went through this process, but nothing is changed since im already on the band that mi4c has which was band 3. wanted to do this because my carrier provides lte CA(carrier aggregation), so i can have faster lte. so far, nothing is changed.

Maybe that's because the tutorial is model specific? (Mi Note Pro in your link)
Just guessing, but it seems a bit too much "low level" tinkering for a general procedure...

I also went through this for the purpose of unlocking band 20, but no luck.

Trying a more advanced guide, which explains the registers and their values usoftsmartphone.com/t264374.html also brought me no luck for band 20.
I can't really say anything about the other bands because band 20 is the only band not supported for me.

The short summary of what I did was change ID 6828 to 0001 1110 0000 0001 0000 0001 1110 0010 0011 1101 1111 (or 2061854712799).

So since the mi4c is capable of FDD-LTE does that mean it is also capable of supporting bands 4 and 17 for use on AT&T? Has anybody tried this? Or are the ports disconnected at the modem and unable to make use of these bands?

Just trying to figure out which phone I will get for my brother this upcoming April. Been Googling around for a while, just decided to finally ask.

hi all !

So i tried to unlock different bands through QPS and QXM ...i read/right the associated value for LTE
But nothing is changing on the phone ..cannot catch LTE on band 4, i only get LTE on band 7(2600Mhz)..Poor coverage especially inside buildings.

I followed this turorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64675180&postcount=11

Is there an app to check which bands are already unlock on the phone ?

thanks.

don't know why you guys want LTE so bad. 3.5G is more than enough for me, I can watch HD clips with no buffer all the time.

just asking for reasons, no offend :D

Hi guys,
I need both Australia & USA LTE frequencies:
AUS = Band B3 Primary (Telstra) + bonus of B5 + B7 + B28
USA = Band B2 / B4 / B12 (T-Mobile)

Has anyone managed to unlock the B2/B4/B12 frequencies? Thanks

For me, the reason is simple. If am connected to 3G/H+ I get 3GB of data from my carrier on my plan. If I am connected to 4G, I get 20GB (In addition to the 3GB of 3G/H+)

The logic is when you are 4G connected you use the carrier network, otherwise you are roaming so it costs money for the carrier.
