If you use stock with stock kernel flash dm-verity zip or root zip that disables this
Custom rom with custom kernel you don't need to

Swipe to allow to allow modification of system - if you want to flash a zip to system this is required

Yes, i amnfull stock rooted, but i am confused with encryption, the phone will be encrypted after modified partition or not?
I only want to install twrp and magisk, without modif the partitions

That's impossible
You can flash twrp & revert back to stock recovery without issue

Flashing magisk will obviously modify the system

Flashing anything will change that partition - that's the whole point in flashing something - you are changing files on the partition to which you are flashing

To check if you are encrypted or to encrypt goto your phones settings & select security

It is not encrypted now, but to be sure...after flashing twrp, must swipe to allow modif? Or format data? How its better to have stock and get ota(after restore boot.img, of course)?

No you do not need to wipe data
You need to swipe to allow if you want to flash any zip to system
You will not be able to flash ota updates the conventional way

OTA update requirements
Stock recovery
Totally unmodified system partition

If you want to flash ota you would need to flash stock firmware via fastboot

If you are modified you can try using the flash fire app (requires super su or set selinux to permissive if using another su)
Please don't ask how to use it - its on the playstore

thank you guys

That is the correct output

There is nothing wrong with that image what so ever
The recovery flashed successfully - It would say fail instead of ok if it didn't flash

Go into bootloader and from there select recovery

Its only a warning. Your new recovery have been flashed.

The image is not signed, that is correct. Only stock recovery will be correctly signed by Lenovo.
However, that is not an impediment for the custom recovery to work. Have you even tried boot into recovery?

the last question, please, i promise :)
I am stock rooted with magisk, how can set selinux to permissive? or magisk do that? I tried to understand what is the difference beetween twrp 3.1.0.0 and 3.1.1.0, why its better, that's the reason for these many questions. I thought with this version the phone can remain untouch and i can update ota, but seems to be not right

There is no difference between the two versions other than what is on the twrp changelog & the fact that with files I got from Santhosh M I compiled a version that supports data decryption

The whole point of a custom recovery is to flash zips which modify the system & to make backups - you can never flash an ota with a modified system and custom recovery the conventional way

There are plenty of apps on the playstore that can set selinux status to permissive if certain apps require it (requires root)

Guys I got a little problem. I used this recovery and AICP for my Moto G5. If I tell my Phone to reboot...no matter if from off, Recorvery or System it reboots to recovery...not system. I can only boot System from fastboot mode.....
Kinda strange....
could you give me a hint how to fix this?

Go into fastboot and type:
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
And try again. :)
Hope this helps you.

Same problem here, whenever I try to reboot from system, recovery and turning on, always boot into recovery. The only way I can boot into system is from the bootloader or through fastboot. Not a big issue, but it's kinda annoying.

I tried, but it didn't work.

Sorry for my English.

Yes, your boot priority is messed up. Flash stock using RSDlite, and this issue will be fixed.
Hope I helped!

Unofficial TWRP 3.1.0-0 Moto G5 (cedric)

    Latest TWRP changelog :

New features of 3.1.1-0 (adb backup, tweaked MTP startup routines and plenty of bug fixes - for full changelog)

    Download Link

    twrp-3.1.1-0-cedric.img

    Working/Bugs

I have just tested on 16 GB variant and all seems to be working. If something is broken lemme know.

    IMPORTANT NOTE :
    • At first boot twrp will ask for "Swipe to allow modifications for /system" and if you choose to allow it system partition will get modified. So if you choose to reboot back to OS without performing anything in twrp, the OS won't boot (as verity check is enabled in stock OS/kernel) . To avoid this you have to flash either SuperSU or flash any of the verity disabler zips there in xda

    • Force encryption is enabled by default in stock OS and twrp will successfully decrypt /data at first boot if all goes well

If in case decryption doesn't go fine, twrp will popup a dialog box asking for password and that means decryption went wrong and you would need to wipe data once via twrp wipe options and reboot back to twrp for functioning of /data

    Installation Guide

    • Make sure you have unlocked bootloader
    • Reboot to bootloader
    • fastboot flash recovery twrp-****.img (if you want permanent flash) or fastboot boot twrp-****.img (if you want temporary
      boot)

note if you are going to encrypt I dont think it shows the android is now encrypting logo - it just stays on the boot animation - depending on how much data you have will depend how long it takes for the phone to boot - Do not restart your phone or you will loose data
    Make a backup first!
