Kernel is still available. That is all I need to give by GPL.
https://github.com/DJSteve/streak7-kernel
That is hopefully not the kernel you are using because its commits are rather ancient. https://github.com/giveen/kernel_dell_streak7

After a quick look android_device_dell_streak7 looks like it is all apache v2.

Except lights.c:
Code:
/*
 * Copyright (c) 2010 NVIDIA Corporation. All Rights Reserved.
 *
 * NVIDIA Corporation and its licensors retain all intellectual property and
 * proprietary rights in and to this software and related documentation. Any
 * use, reproduction, disclosure or distribution of this software and related
 * documentation without an express license agreement from NVIDIA Corporation
 * is strictly prohibited.
 */
But for apache, I assume you are aware of the requirements:
You must give any other recipients of the Work or Derivative Works a copy of this License; and
You must cause any modified files to carry prominent notices stating that You changed the files; and
You must retain, in the Source form of any Derivative Works that You distribute, all copyright, patent, trademark, and attribution notices from the Source form of the Work, excluding those notices that do not pertain to any part of the Derivative Works; and
If the Work includes a "NOTICE" text file as part of its distribution, then any Derivative Works that You distribute must include a readable copy of the attribution notices contained within such NOTICE file, excluding those notices that do not pertain to any part of the Derivative Works, in at least one of the following places: within a NOTICE text file distributed as part of the Derivative Works; within the Source form or documentation, if provided along with the Derivative Works; or, within a display generated by the Derivative Works, if and wherever such third-party notices normally appear. The contents of the NOTICE file are for informational purposes only and do not modify the License. You may add Your own attribution notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside or as an addendum to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided that such additional attribution notices cannot be construed as modifying the License.
So... I have no experience with the android codebase? Anyone here who does or wants to get some?

Whether it has taken days, months or years Giveen has put in the time when no one else has taken up the mantle. The fact that people are coming into this thread and bashing the work he has done is wrong, no matter if he is asking a small fee (which any app developer does to get by mind you).

Thread Re-Opened

After communication with OP, Thread is now re-opened.

No more "Off-Topic" posting. Any more shenanigans, and the troll axe will come down hard. So keep it ON TOPIC please.

Contribute logcats and dmesg when requested, and lend a hand in things. A lot of hard work goes into things, so learn to appreciate it.

If the OP decides to continue this project, that is his choice.

After discussing things with Mod, I've put a download link up for free. I still don't know how much time I will devote to this. I start on my Bachelors in 8 days.

Now is this any different than the paid for version I downloaded on 7/23/13? The first post also states to do a Goo Manager update as well, correct??

I had the same question, and based on the file size, I think it's the same as the paid version... Giveen can obviously clarify if I'm wrong.

THis thread is a joke.
Look, I didn't want to go that direction, I felt like that I wasn't being appreciated and I got a bit bitter. I was getting non-stop complaints and request for support in PM's, in this thread, and on twitter.

I did not know it was against the rules to sell my work and after talking to the mod, I gave my file up for free and quit

Oh yeah, 215 downloads and not a single donation, that is why I am not particularly hurrying to produce anything anymore. Letting ccxxx take over and just giving him my information and work.

Shouldn't be a huge surprise. Get people to pay for "small scale" open source work is hard. And then it does have several issues left. And for me, the streak 7 I use isn't even mine, it's borrowed from a friend... Would that be a good situation that makes me pay?

Well..... I'll need some time to get to know the android code. And I'm lazy. I have added some debug code on sunday but haven't even recompiled yet...

Completely understandable on all parts.
