@yakovpol: Yes, indeed I get the same using the original "dmesg | grep peter*".

I was thinking the same thing at first (that Peter's version indicator just would not show up correctly), however, I I didn't know how to confirm this. So thank you! That said, I because I assumed something like this, I did try some custom ROMs (PE and RR), which did not boot. Only after getting more desperate and installing FCrypt-disabler was I able to successfully boot into any of the ROMs (e.g. PE).

I'm not sure if installing FCrypt-disabler was a wise decision as I don't know what the repercussions are (am I loosing functionality?), but at least I have a working ROM for now.
@Naveenthemi: I did, no change in the logo and now peter won't even show up in the terminal, I flashed 3.3.1-6 and it was back. Strange...

Well flashing f-crypt disabler now would have disabled encryption by default...Wow strange indeed..

Hi,
I used "fastboot flash recovery peter.img" and it said it went okay. However, I could not boot into TWRP and went into the stock recovery instead.

So I installed the official 3.3.1.0 and that worked. Of course, the ROMs don't work (like PE), so I tried this again via command line or from within TWRP, but it keeps booting to 3.3.1.0. :(

I would REALLY appreciate if someone could help me figure out what I'm doing wrong and/or how to get this to work.

Thank you in advance!

P.S.: It's a Chinese phone which finally unlocked today.
Had the same issue, but i did use official TWRP to flash custom ROM successfully before.

Ok then now try flashing 3.3.1-5 instead of the latest (3.3.1-6)
Sorry, but it won't help to flash custom ROM

Wdym it won't, this TWRP is as good as the official one in fact it's better, I don't see why you can't flash a custom ROM from it...

In fact, the problem is with official TWRP which cannot handle userdata encryption. If you wipe data, official TWRP will be able to boot completely.

i did, the first twrp i installed in violet was official ik its data encryption problem, n ik it sticks at twrp screen if u dont wipe userdata, but the problem after flashing Peters twrp was, i couldn't even boot into that twrp logo screen(even after fastboot erase userdata) n using the Peters twrp itself to wipe everything including internal storage n formatting data.. thats why i asked for help here.. maybe i am messing the sequence to do all this?

Hi! just to inform you guys this recovery failed to install miui based rom (RevolutionOS) but another TWRP called "OrangeFox-R10-020-RC-violet" did it well and actually a lot smarter with many options ... Just simply functional without any fuss ...

I flash a custom rom for example pe, i reboot to system from recovery, but it keep going into recovery, not system.
Oh ok , one should probably use ROM's with wrappedkey support along with this..
