There's no dipping your foot in, you either do it or you don't... This device is cheap enough it wouldn't be a huge loss for most people, but it's ultimately up to you.
So i have a problem when i try to flash the recovery it tells me that the sice is to big and its just only 17mb big

You're trying to root it, right? I'm very interested on your success! Let me help thinking of something you may have not thinked about.
Have you explored the files on the phone's memory? How many MB have you got free? Have you tried to clean the cache and delete things in order to leave free memory? Delete Download folder files and all the junk to maximize free space?

Not necessarily it needs 17mb. Remember that the files are compressed, so it needs more than 17mb to complete the task, because if will decompress this 17mb file, replace files, etc. I'd leave at least 200mb free.

Could someone create a boot.img with the permissive selinux so I can test please?

Hey dougluna. I've been following your posts on 3 threads and this one from October seems to be the last post with news from your attempt to root it. Any news that you could share?

Hey guys,

Just want to report that I have luck flashing a k450 with US610 firmware.

Please follow the steps at your own risk. I haven't tested if everything still work correctly.

Steps:
1) Download US610 kdz file (just do a quick google search, you should find it in the top results)
2) Extract the kdz with this tool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575
You should get a dz and dll file
3) Use lg flash tool V1.8.1.1023 to flash using the dz file and dll file extracted in step 2.

After the flashing is done, you would boot into a "minios" and
a) you should see a message "Factory reset status 2".
b) Wait a while until the message updates to "Factory reset status 3"
c) power off using pwr+vol- button.
d) power back on it should boot into android. It takes around 5 minutes for first boot.

Now since it wasn't even checking for k450 model vs us610 model mismatch, I suppose one might be able to obtain root by repacking the dz file with appropriate boot/system image.

If we can repack dz file and still be able to flash a modified dz file (it should be applicable to all models?) I think we would have a good starting point for custom rom based off stock rom.

What about opensource.lge.com I found there this "LGK220TR_K220K_K220DS_K220_K220DSF_K220Z_K220T_K220dsz_Android_Marshmallow_V10a" but is that really source for X Power :confused::confused:

If yes i could try to compile it
