I too had several crashes to solid red light and this happened after installing magisk with the Rom. Also crashed when unlocking the phone once and froze another time. Let it boot and sit for a few minutes and didn't crash again. Sorry no logs as not familiar with the logcat process.

I now have magisk installed over Pico gapps and the 14/11 build whilst also afterwards flashing in schwifty 5.8 kernal.

I just updated from the last version and I am not always getting the red light black screen crash, but it is happening often over the last 2 hours since installing.

I think I'll go back to the last version.

The kernel is very far from being stable.
- Try flashing another kernel other than Schwifty
- Try updating it
- Try keeping the phone cooler (it happens when hot or charging for me) with Kernel Adiutor if rooted

Maybe it could be because I'm running schwifty kernal or not but the audio recording sometimes plays up. First file doesn't record and then takes about 24gb of space on the phone

Schwifty v4 (treble) is working fine together with the latest build, at least for me that is. I only encountered black-screens while I was on stock kernel.

I had no further issues after I reported here. Maybe it is an issue with the automatically reinstallation of magisk.

I flashed the latest Magisk beta after updating to the new build, haven't had any trouble since. I also flashed Schwifty beforehand, so maybe it has something to do with the kernel, as someone already mentioned.

The 18-11 build of LOS 16.1 IS on schwifty, you just didn't read the changelog. I don't know what version it was tho.
- Currently with Crimson, I haven't had any heat-up-and-die situations.

I recommend everyone on the 18-11 build to either:
- Flash Schwifty 4 directly from the thread
- Flash Crimson Kernel

I missed that indeed, nontheless Schwifty 4 works fine when flashed manually.

You mean the 20181114 build? Or is there a newer build?

Thank you so much for keeping this alive, and patched. I've just come from RR and couldn't be happier. Cheers
Exactly the same. Recently migrated over from RR a few days ago and it's been running nicely.

Sorry for the inconvenience, didn't notes that LineageOS pushed the new CAF display, media and audio HALs to github. Since our display/media blobs are still based on an Oreo CAF tag, these cause issues with newer P CAF HALs. Next build scheduled for today.
