Safe to assume that this is an issue affecting all phones and that is at least part of the reason we have not seen an official release yet for any phone? Or are there other major issues being worked on as well? Just curious.

because there's no solution to ESIM on the horizon so we're stuck unofficial.
Thank you for all the work and time the Lineage teams do for us.

Regarding your post, you have no solution for the ESIM functionality. Does using a physical SIM work with LineageOS 20 on the Pixel 3a XL? Could you release version 20 with the caveat that ESIM doesn't work. You also work on the Nexus 6 which has the caveat that ANT+ and IMS are not supported "due to compatibility issues with proprietary components". Could you treat ESIM support the same?

Yes physical SIM works, no we can't do that.

So is development of LOS "active" as far as implementing security patches and new features and all OTHER aspects of development or is it currently more in a "maintained" state until the esim issue is resolved?
I mean the rest of platform is shipping, and it's a pixel so it basically self-maintains.

We are actively merging security patches into the kernel every month.

The second someone fixes ESIM we ship

Perfect so its literally a ready for release product and being maintained as one just waiting on esim for it to be able to officially released.

This is what I suspected but wanted to post in here so everyone else would see this and realize if you dont require esim then this is ready and waiting for you.

Keep up the great work

FWIW both the 3 and 3a families are in that boat.

Just wanted to report back, I took the plunge to the unofficial build and I have to say that it was absolutely the most boring and uneventful upgrade i can remember doing.

This is EXTREMELY high praise. I didnt even wipe just sideloaded right over my data and everything seems to be working fine. Rooted using the same process I always have in the past and repainter (theming app) still works just fine as well. In fact had I not done the upgrade myself I woudnt even have known anything had changed at all, except it might be a tad snappier in response overall.

Now I cant leave a 100% great review so will nitpick the ONLY things so far I have found....
I just loaded the the feb 9th build but when I go into system updater it lists the 02-09 build as available for download as well as all previous versions. Doesnt seem possible to remove them from showing. Also the changelog is still pointing to the 19.1 changes.

Let me re-iterate, in case someone misunderstands, This was one of the easiest upgrades I have ever done, and I have been doing them since my samsung vibrant. I only mention the nitpicks so they can be addressed in future builds.

So far everything is working great, not a single issue so far

I can highly recommend this upgrade for anyone who doesnt require esim support.

VERY happy to hear. If you hit anything let me know.

And as for the updater thing - I'll purge them all once the majority of people have upgraded, so that only newest will show - it's a temporary thing.

Gonna give this a go on my wife's 3a XL. Quick question, will Android Auto/Google maps work ok? The Pixel 2 had a problem with GPS. And thanks for keeping this device current.

We don't ask for eta in here.... It will drop when it's ready. But since no official lineage 20 for any phone has dropped yet that I know of.... I would guess it will drop when the first batch of phones drops

Thanks for building this for our device. Excited to give it a shot but there's an error with the builds page.
