@eremitein
I have just moved from my Samsung GT-I9195 LineageOS 18.1 to my new Xiaomi MI 9 SE. Seems that we have with "lir-v312-210813-arm64-bgZ" the same problem as follows:

My router is a Fritzbox AVM 6890. On its security settings the WPA-Modus was set to:
WPA2+WPA3 - the Wifi does NOT function with your LineageOS R version.
If I change my router security settings to WPA+WPA2 the WIFI suddenly works.
The moment I change the router back to WPA2+WPA3 the WIFI on your LineageOS R version switches off.

That problem was answered by the GT-I9195 developer: "The phone doesn't support WPA3, and Google probably added some updates for WPA3 in R that cause issues on older devices."

He fixed it as follows: <!-- Enable WPA2 to WPA3 auto-upgrade --> <bool translatable="false" name="config_wifiSaeUpgradeEnabled">false</bool>

The original MI 9 SE firmwares and also Andy Yan's GSI Lineage 18.1 versions were supporting wifi under WPA3.

Is there a possibility that the same can be done on this LineageOS version?

how this can works?.. are you sure Andy's GSI (not DSSI) actually haven't issue?

@AndyYan sorry for tag you, but can you explain this situation

I have tried to install Andy's GSI for more than a week (±20 times) but was unable to install OpenGapps or MindTheGapps afterwards however, with his LineageOS only I had the Wifi working. That's the reason I have tried your LineageOS.

First I have installed your bvZ version 3 times and was also unable to install Gapps afterwards. Your bgZ worked first try.
However, may be I do something wrong in installing the Gapps afterwards...!? Any clue for the right procedure on my MI 9 SE?

I really appreciate your answer for the previous post, THANK YOU VERY MUCH...

i guess you can't install Gapps because TWRP for your device can't do this (super partition and system can't be mounted as read-write), so you need using already gappsed GSI

I'm kinda confused on this as well, I didn't do anything specific here...
@AndyYan @eremitein
Just tried again the different versions on my Xiaomi MI 9 SE and can confirm the following:
  • Andy's GSI: The wifi runs on WPA+WPA2 and WPA2+WPA3
  • Eremitein'S bgz version: The wifi runs just on WPA+WPA2. If I switsch the router to WPA2+WPA3 the wifi comes off, if I switch the router back to WPA+WPA2 it comes on again.

Seems that I will be unable to use this bgz version. Tried this morning to further set up the Xiaomi MI 9 SE and discovered that the sound is totally distorted. When I get back to the firmware or Andy's GSI the sound works normally, Tried it three times and checking the sound right from the start. No success...!?

So you could set a lockscreen pin if you remove root? It didn't work for me. Whatever I tried until now had no success...
this is depends on device
on my phone i can set password in any form - with or without encryption, with or without root (i guess you meant magisk as root)
but on some devices possible set password only if data encrypted, so my suggestion is trying to check if device encrypted and set encryption (by flashing stock clean boot + vendor) if data decrypted - because, for sample, dm-verity disabler zip doing not only verity disabling but also decryption

    i can confirm that safetynet works without magisk, enabling safetynet and pixel 5 spoofing and rebooting, on my device. Very smooth GSI.
    Likewise. Working very smoothly on Blackview BV9600E. Best one yet. Many thanks. :)

    @Heeni
    please can you tell me which image (a-only or a/b or vndklite or something) do you have used?
    I tried several images but my x505f was not able to pass the lenovo log (endless bootloop).
    How was your flashing procedure?
    I failed with:
    - reboot to stock recovery and do a factory reset
    - then reboot to bootloader and "fastboot flash system <image>" and "fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img" (grabbed vbmeta.img from stock rom image)

    I use arm64-bvZ, which is an ab version.

    It was a while ago now, so I don't entirely remember how I did it, but I used the instructions in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ial-twrp-3-5-x-for-lenovo-tab-m10-hd.4211221/ That would probably be the best place to post if you're still having problems.

    Where possible, I prefer to load software from the sd card. I don't entirely trust cables.

    < Your warranty is now void! >
    We're not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you

    LiR is a project which based on LineageOS 18.1 with @AndyYan's and @phhusson's Treble GSI patches. Built with some Andy's patches & recommendations, also even without "ALLOW_MISSING_DEPENDENCIES=true" flag. System can run with SELinux enforced state, as original Phh AOSP GSI. Fully compatible with PHH-Treble patches. Has dynamic root which can be activated/deactivated without reboot - 'su' binary and SuperUser app (can works on all devices even with system read-only). Also has dynamic SafetyNet helper (but it compatible not with all devices), users have four ways to pass SafetyNet: a. just enable SafetyNet option (recommended) b. disable SafetyNet and enable "Spoof Pixel 5" then reboot c. enable both options and reboot d. mount system as RW and create empty file /system/phh/secure (legacy method), and in the Recovery do Wipe Data

    vanilla, gapps, go-gapps: all possible architectures

    NAMING
    Some information you should know about knowing what type of gsi it is

    <ARCH>_xyZ

    <ARCH>
    can either be arm, a64 (arm32_binder64) or arm64
    x
    can either be a or b
    y
    can either be v, o, g or f
    Z
    can be N, S or Z

    b
    =
    a/b
    a = a-only

    g = gapps
    o = gapps-go
    v = vanilla (no gapps included)
    f = floss (free & open source apps instead gapps)

    N = no superuser
    S = superuser included
    Z = dynamic superuser included

    -lite = for VNDK Lite vendors (also can help with broken camera even on normal VNDK vendors)

    so in most common example "arm64_avZ" is ARM64 A-only vanilla with dynamic superuser

    KN0WN BUGS
    excluding fixes, the same as on LineageOS GSI by Andy Yan (in some cases doesn't work: broadcasting on TV, calls via BT; offline charging does not work normally etc)
    NOTE: always test ROM first without Magisk (with clean boot ramdisk). and don't send me bug reports if you have:
    a) Magisk installed
    b) modified/custom vendor or kernel
    c) dirty flashing rom without wiping data
    d) modified props values (another device fingerprint and so on)
