Primary ROM and all next ROM mast have equal kernel.

Don't use app, you don't need it... My suggestion: Use TWRP to manage your ROMs and MultiROM boot menu to select which one to boot.

With latest version you don't need any special kernel.

Just follow the 5 steps given in op, not so hard, i regularly install and remove multirom, never faced such problem.
