Bug HOME BUTTON

I installed the rom on the J500M (lineage-16.0-j4-20181117-NIGHTLY-j5lte).

It's working fine on the device.

However, to configure the buttons (Settings> System> Buttons), there are only options to configure the power button and the volume button, there are no options to configure the home button.
So, if the screen phone is off, only the power button can turn on it; the home button will not take any action if the screen is off.

I have other devices with lineage 16.0 and this configuration is present in them.

How I can proced?
Is that a bug? Or the home button setting is somewhere else?

Looking for more bugs. There are microfreezes in games on the j500h (there are no such problems on the stock firmware), problems with brightness setting (it is not the maximum and even smaller range of its adjustment) compared to Android 6.0.1, the camera does not see the memory card and the device’s autonomy by Compared with stock Android 6.0.1 is noticeably lower. And so everything works fine. Thanks to the developers. (Sorry for bad english).

MindTheGapps issue?

Is anyone else having trouble getting MindTheGapps to install? I'm on J500fn, and the ROM is going on beautifully but MindTheGapps is not doing anything. I've taken the latest build as per the link in the original post, doing a full wipe including system and then using TWRP install to chain this ROM and then MindTheGapps, but when I boot, same screen every time with no gapps.

I'm clearly doing something wrong, but can't spot what it might be. Any ideas gratefully received?

Just use open gapps instead of MTG .

I can't get the TWRP to work on my j500fn. I've tried all three version for TWRP 3.2.3.

With the TWRP from the Bootlegers ROM I've had no luck, either. But at least with them I can get the /tmp/recovery.log via ADB (see my post there).

I've tried all three versions:
  • TWRP-3.2.3-lineage-15.1_j13_20180802_j5nlte.tar
  • TWRP-3.2.3-lineage-15.1_j15_20180910_j5nlte.tar
  • TWRP-3.2.3-lineage-15.1_j16_20180921_j5nlte.tar

The second one I can't even flash because it's too large. And with the other ones I'm just getting a black screen when I boot into recovery afterwards. I also tried the LineageOS Recovery and it's the same.

Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: Nevermind. Installed 6.0 stock rom and now it works.

New builds are up for LineageOS well as the oc kernels, for all devices.
There aren't any major changes besides monthly security fixes.

Changelog (01/01/2019 - 02/01/2019)
================================

- Correct Serial number is now listed under Settings
- Correct Bluetooth MAC is now listed under Settings
- November and December security fixes
- Kernel builds for Pie (https://download.msm8916.com/Kernels/oc_hotplug/16.0/)

Drop a message in the group (https://t.me/joinchat/FzTdQT_pGY5cbyDDiAo6gw) or on the respective thread on xda if there are any issues or regressions.

1. You can extract the *.img file from the tar archive in the OP and flash it using TWRP.
2. You need a marshmallow bootloader and the TWRP from the OP's link. Since you're already on Oreo then you're on the correct bootloader and all you have to do is update your recovery.

Stuck on Set Warranty Bit: Kernel

Hi.

So I have a J500-F, recently discovered this thread and decided to try installing the latest version of LOS.

So far, I've ran into numerous issues; some I've solved myself, some still unsolved. I'm currently at a dead end here.

First, TWRP. I initially tried to flash the latest version (3.2.3 I think). It gets flashed successfully through Odin, but when I try to boot in recovery, I'm only greeted by a black screen. 3.1.1 is the only one that works for me. Though, I hear a "USB Successfully connected to your PC" sound with 3.2.3 installed, but the issue persists.

Next, ROM. After a tedious loop and process of trying to flash both LOS and MindTheGApps, I've "successfully" flashed both. Relieved, I try to reboot in the system. Now, another dead end. It shows the boot animation, but with a "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel" at the top left side of the screen. Then, black screen. Same as the issue with TWRP, it connects to the PC fine. Flashed all versions of LOS/LOSGo 16.0 so far.

Have yet to try 14 and 15. So, I came here for help, hoping that I'm only missing steps unlisted on the first page. Yes, I came from stock ROM (6.0).

If needed, I'll get a logcat later.

EDIT: Here's how I did things:

- Flashed TWRP through Odin
- Copied LOS and GApps, then flashed both through TWRP.
- After successful flashes, proceeded to reboot to system.
- Dead end; "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel", then black screen.
