for changing dpi?! is there some menu or have I to mod manually? thank you :cyclops:

EDIT: nevermind, using dpi changer worked (from 182 to 240)

note: on google play > textdroider_dpi

EDIT2: I forgot sorry... or directly by editing build.prop (from 182 to 240)

2014-03-11 imo

Thanks for the great ROM.

Excellence in:
  • I definitely like blacked out theming (battery saving aspect) see 2 posts down for explanation.
  • Minimalistic approach for stock apps
  • I am using minimal gapps and calendar sync from this thread <21MB
  • Sound is clear and loud on speakerphone
  • Interface fluidity

Noted disfunctions:
  • In the developemnt menu -> self reseting to checked position for disabling debugging
  • Conversation initiation starts with static for a sec, and become clear afterwards.
  • Proximity sensor did not work for me
  • DashClock died on me when tried to access preferences, solved by replacing with KK Widget

Wishful thinking:
  • Would be nice to have ROM aroma installer with ability to remove certain system application.
i.e. calendar, email, exchange, torch, live wallpaper etc since most often ppl already found a replacement and don't use the stock one
(Yes, I am aware of a ROM Cleaner)
  • Ability to set DPI during installation
  • To have an option for bare minimum launcher <1MB (yes, they are exist)

Probably local misconfiguration
  • I was not able to get any sound out of mp3 collection with Music Folder Player
  • Visual artifacts 1-2px wide by the left border upon vertical scrolling in apps section of a launcher.

This is just an observation.

LCD screen

I don't think this will save any battery on our device, since it has no amoled screen.
Thanks for correcting me.

HTC Sensation has S-LCD screen
since LCD panels are transmission panels, there's a constant white light source behind the LCD's and the LCD pixels filter out the colors they don't want seen. Doesn't matter what color you see on the screen, that white light behind the panel is still on.

So the only way to decrease consumption on a screen is to under-volt it. Kernel standalone installer from Sultanxda has that option.

How is this ROM? I'm looking for a refreshing experience for my phone. I'm using ViperS 5.1.0 at the moment, but I'm growing bored of Sense 5.

For me is best and fastest. Almost no any issues. Worth to try.

Thank you for this Rom!
I can't seem to find out where to adjust it....the font is too slim ! :D
Cheers
fonts are OK, the problem, even if isn't a real problem is DPI configuration... it's under valued from 240 to 182

you can modify it by editing build.prop and replacing back display dpi from 182 to 240, or you can use something like "textdroider dpi" (available in the play store), of course you must be root

you can even mod build.prop directly inside rom.zip file before every upgrade

This ROM is running really stable now since four days :good:. The phone reacts very smoothly as well. Battery last about 20 hrs.

I got a lot of fc messages after the first two attempts but then these tricks did it for me:
  1. Clean install(!) format all (I also formated my SD card but this is not necessary (make sure you have a backup of fotos, music, etc.))
  2. Install ROM from zip
  3. Reboot phone
  4. After boot (takes some time) reboot into recovery again
  5. Install GAPPS (I used MINI MODULAR PACKAGE, MICRO did not work for me! updated to 20140321a that should fix problems)
  6. Flash SuperSU (you can get the latest version here: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu)
I then had to uninstall DashClock Widget with Titanium BU and downloaded it from the Play Store
If font is too tiny you can edit the build.prop (within the zip it's in system): change ro.sf.lcd_density=182 to 240 or 230.

I hope that helps some of you. Thanks to this ROM my Sensation came back to life :victory: (... but now I just can't buy a new phone damnit..;))
