Well, first, thanks for the support
I think if this mod could use both the tele (not the fake tele 2.2x) and macro lens's, I would finally be able to move to LOS 18.1. Macro lens is actually very good! I use it for zooming in very close to flowers and insects, and there is no way I could take those photos with gcam.
Is anyone looking to get the proper tele and macro lens working?
As fas as I know, macro and ultrawide camera use the same lens, therefore simply switch to ultrawide mode and put the camera real close to the object to get the macro working. If the FOV is too wide, you can zoom in digitally to adjust it.
Interesting indeed! I'd always been thinking the Pro version was using a dedicated Macro sensor, as the normal 8 does, but it seems you're right and the Pro actually uses UW as a macro sensor. We then have to apply a 1.5X or 1.7X digital zoom when taking the picture, or in post-processing. That'd then explain why we don't see any Macro button among the list of auxiliary sensors for our device, on any GCam mod. Good find!
Hello there, I recommend you try every different GCAM release from the ZIP file available on post #1 of this thread and make your own opinion.
From B-S-G? if yes, his 8.3 version is still highly experimental, still at an early beta stage, and many parts or areas in the settings are still not implemented (compared to 8.2 and 8.1), so I'll probably wait a bit until something more stable is released.
As said before, several apps allow you to remove sys apps when your device is rooted. For example, Swift Backup, Lucky 3C AIO Toolbox (Pro), Lucky Patchers...Hello I installed the Greatness version of GCam on my OP8P using CarbonROM and everything went fine.
I then decided to switch to AICP rom because it has more features.
Unfortunately, the AICP Rom uses the Stock OnePlus camera and I think they conflict. Anytime I try to open Gcam it just crashes.
Is there a way to remove the stock version of the OP camera?
