Changes for R14:
'Exposure Compensation' is turned ON by default, which lowers exposure considerably. Just turn it OFF (the 'Sun' symbol at the top of the viewfinder) if you need some exposure boost.
'Instant Capture' (HDRNet) is turned OFF by default, for higher quality shots. Just press the 'HDRNet' icon on the left side of the viewfinder if you need to activate it.
Don't forget to turn 'Auto White Balance' (AWB) ON if you capture shots in low light scenarios, artificial lighting and at night. Icon is at the top of the viewfinder.

Great camera mod.
The only problem I run into is that I post quite a lot of photos on google maps. Now the problem is that google maps doesn't recognize the pictures taken with this mod as .jpeg ? Any idea how I can solve that?

Thanks for the feedback. Following your post, I've been capturing this quick shot with the zoom lens ( https://ibb.co/QkPH8bd ), totally unedited. I published it on Google Maps when reviewing some park, and didn't have any issue.
Could you possibly do more testing? Have you edited the image you were trying to upload, maybe?

I can't install this version of LMC. The unknown source install is on, but still, the message "something went wrong, the app was not installed." shows up... I'm on op 8 pro, android 12. Any ideea? Because all other versions of LMC was installed without any problems. Thank you!
Hi, clean your device from any other GCam mods, even earlier versions of LMC, restart your device, use the provided APK (and make sure the file is not corrup / re-download the zip archive if needed), then install it. No installation issue here.

Hello there,
1) Unfortunately, there is no specific documentation for each GCam mod, but you might still find the 2 links at the bottom of my very first post useful. Anyway, LDR means Low-Dynamic Range (as opposed to HDR) and will strenghten the shadows & contrasts of your subjects by adjusting the highlights & exposure. Leica mode, as the name implies, is just a filter aimed at reproducing some characteristics of those shots taken with the legendary brand's camera & lenses.
2) Nope, at least with LMC mod, as it would mean using the same (rampatcher) values for all lenses (as far as I know), instead of specific values for each sensor.
3) You can enable 'HDRNet' button on the ViewFinder to get near-ZSL results.

thank you for the personal answer to my question directly. I have been using your mods, and I enjoy it very much, particular Leica filter.
I am reaching out, because I stumble across the Magisk Module "OnePlus 8 Series & 9R Camera Unlocker", which promises to:
- Removes the 1/30s shutter speed cap for third party camera apps, allowing GCam to use up to 1/8s in Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL) mode
- Enables 48MP RAW10 capture support, both on the main (8/8T/9R) and ultra wide (8 Pro) lenses
- Adds Multi Frame Noise Reduction support for the macro/monochrome (8/8T) and ultra wide (8 Pro) lenses
- Adds support for long exposure capture (up to 5 seconds) in the Open Camera app
- Allows access to the auxiliary cameras indepedent of the OxygenOS version or the GCam package installed

Thanks for your kind words regarding my work. I am not the author of the Google Camera mod, only the custom profile made for our device.
Regarding this Magisk module, I have flashed it, few weeks ago (the initial release, then their V2), but haven't managed to get anything close to 1/8s when using HDR-Net & HDR+ modes from LMC app. The only way for me to get full control over the shutter speed is to select HDR Enhanced mode, in the Quick Settings, and long-press the gallery icon on the bottom right of the viewfinder, which is a shortcut to the Shutter speed menu. I also select how many HDR frames I want to capture each time I press the shutter button by touching the 'Auto' circular icon at the top left of the viewfinder (the minimum is 3 frames).
I'm afraid I can't help you more regarding that module, as I haven't coded it. Maybe they have a Telegram channel so you could contact them if you need more info & some assistance.

1) If you prefer some darker exposure on your shots, just press the 'Sun' icon ('Exposure Compensation') on the ViewFinder screen.
2) If you want some (slightly) higher quality results in your shots, disable the HDR-Net mode by pressing the corresponding icon on the ViewFinder. It will take a bit more time to capture your image though. You can also manually choose how many frames you want to capture for your HDR shot by pressing the 'Auto' icon.
3) In low-light & Night scenarios, you may find the 'AWB' (Auto White-Balance) mode useful. Just activate it by pressing the AWB button (on the ViewFinder). Remember to disable it for your daylight shots.
4) When using Night mode, a Tripod (or at least a stable surface) is highly recommended!

Hi,
1) Please make sure you uninstall any other -possibly conflicting- GCam mod, including previous versions of LMC.
2) Install the provided LMC (SnapCam) version included in the download link.
3) Using a file manager, unzip & copy the included XML file inside the 'LMC8.4' folder, create it if not already there.
4) Start the app, make SURE you grant full 'Storage Access' when requested for it.
5) Double-press the black area around the Shutter button, then you should be able to load my custom XML file. If not, then there is obviously something not done properly in the indicated steps, or you're using a custom ROM that possibly requests additional steps that I do not know of.

There are just too many changes in this new release to keep the previous V5x iteration, so here comes V6, with lots of optimizations and improvements in every app department. It would just take too long to mention every modification done to it, but after hours spent working on this new version, I believe it should bring even better noise reduction, speed and overall image quality (compared to previous release).
This time, only 2 custom XMLs are provided: FAST & HQ! They are mostly similar but 'FAST' brings instant shots (using Zero-Shutter Lag -ZSL- mode by default), very fast processing and 12MP image resolution (about 2-4MB per shot), while 'HQ' comes with HDR+Enhanced by default (with as low as 1/5s Exposure time and 20 HDR frames, so be steady for a second or two if shooting at night / in low light!), increased image resolution (6 to 12MB per shot) and therefore some slightly longer image processing time. JPEG compression is kept at 97% for both profiles, as it is a sweet spot in terms of quality / image size.
You can also use 'FAST' xml and activate 'HDR+Enhanced' function in the Quick Settings panel, which should limit Exposure time to 1/15s, for slightly better quality while remaining fast to shoot & process. This is actually the XML that most people should use, but if for any reason you need to use 'HQ', just make sure you are steady / use some stable surface (or increase Exposure time to 1/10s to 1/13s). However, if you use a tripod or a perfectly stable surface, you can even decrease Expo time to 'Max'...
Everything is user-adjustable, especially the exposure time, which can be quickly accessed with some long-press on the Gallery icon. Same goes for the number of HDR frames, which can be reduced or increased (if you use HDR+Enhanced mode).
If your shots are too bright, make use of the Exposure Compensation function (the 'sun' icon) or simply touch the viewfinder area and manually adjust your exposure using the slider.
Almost everything should work, including front & back video from all sensors. There is still no distortion correction for UW sensor, but this is not something that can be solved on my side, unfortunately.

As always, take this new release as it is, or leave it, but please remember this is all done for free, took countless hours of (my) time to create and is in no way made by a team of experienced developers. As for anything in life, there is surely room for improvement, and I strongly encourage users to adapt my work to their liking. Please remember that "if you can't say anything nice about something, just don't say anything at all", or at least try to be nice when reporting bugs or suggestions for improvement. And one last thing: we all have different preferences when it comes to photography.

Several small optimizations here and there. Shots will be a tiny bit more contrasted, with less artefacts. AWB should bring more noticeable results for the back main sensor, when activated (at night, in low-light and/or under artificial lighting conditions). 'IR' sensor should bring some slightly better quality results as well (well, as long as you use it under -bright- daylight and keep in mind it's just a -crappy- 5MP sensor).

Hi, it should work for the Selfie camera, yes. For the back lenses, not sure it really does much, or maybe very lightly, despite the function being (manually) set to 'level 1' in the Dev settings. Whenever I take pictures of people who like some 'makeup' effects, I usually edit their shots with BeautyPlus app, quite a powerful software, which is both Female & Male compatible.
Anyway, I've included this 'test.xml' file below, which is manually set at 'level 2' for makeup & beauty retouch. I changed a few other settings as well (reduced clarity, for example). HDR mode is set to 'HDR+' instead of 'HDR Enhanced', for instant capture. Full 48MP shots is ON for the main lens as well, so that users can easily crop & adjust their shots afterwards if needed.
It is hard to provide an 'ideal' configuration file for everyone, as we all have different preferences. Most people in this kind of forum are going to pixel-peep every shot they take, and will rate the config file based on the number of details they can grab as well as the lowest noise they'll see, while some may go for the fastest config, not caring much about getting the highest quality, others will go for portrait & people shots mostly, with a need for some softer output and possibly some face retouch as well, something that those hunting for maximum details will avoid as much as possible.
Anyway, absolutely anything and everything can be user-adjusted in the settings, and the config files I provide are just a base. I always encourage people to adjust the settings depending on their very own preferences.
For higher-quality results from this 'Test.xml' profile, enable 'HDR+Enhanced' from the Quick-Settings panel (longer time to capture shots though).

This new update brings some changes and optimizations mostly in the RamPatcher part of the app.
2 XML custom config files are provided in this release: 'DSLR' aims at bringing a more natural, softer and less-sharpened approach to your shots, while still retaining lots of details but in a more subtle and gentler way, while 'SHARP' xml is closer to my previous releases. Those 2 config XMLs may fit different situations / scenarios and preferences, of course. They are both FAST, but you may just activate 'HDR+Enhanced' mode from the Quick-Settings panel if you wish to achieve some higher-quality results, as well as manually increase your Shutter/Exposure time to 1/5s, 1/2s or even 1 second.
Other modifications were done as well, but less noticeable.
Of course, if you don't like this release, simply use any previous version that suits you best...

1) Just download the file above, unzip it (using the provided password), then install the apk file of your choice on your device.
2) Extract the appropriate xml configuration file, as well as its folder, onto your phone internal storage.
3) Then, just start the app, give the necessary privileges, double-click on the lower black area near the 'shutter' button of the app, it should allow you to load custom profiles. Select my xml, press ok, done!
Some of these mods come with Face Detection, Face Retouch (both Front & Back sensors), great color reproduction, low noise, excellent details (especially on the main back sensor), FHD & 4K videos @ 30/60FPS with OIS/EIS stabilization, Night Shots, Astro-Photography, Portrait and more...
However, there is still no Distortion Correction/Fix on Ultra-Wide sensor, on any GCam mod I have tried sor far actually. This might come in the future, but it seems to be quite hard for devs to implement in their respective mods. This can be fixed by some apps in post-editing anyway...

There are some 'hidden' shortcuts in some of these GCam mods! For example, with Greatness, P.Z.D, MTSL and LMC, you can access the (very useful) Exposure/ISO menu by long-pressing the circle 'gallery' button on the lower-right of the main app screen, which will provide you with a choice of ISO settings, as well as Exposure choices. The lower the ISO, the better the final picture quality, but it will take more time to 'capture' your image. The same goes for Exposure; the longer the time, the better your image (and the lower iso at the same time), but you may have to be steady if you go lower than 1/10s.
A long-press on the Camera-Switch button (on Greatness Mod), on the lower-left of the main app screen, will directly bring you to the App Settings.
Double-Press the viewfinder itself will zoom 2x to what you want to shoot, and will display the Zoom Bar at the bottom, so you can finely adjust it!
There is also a 'Sunset' shortcut on the main screen/viewfinder (Greatness Mod), just above the 3 back sensors, which should theoretically bring better color reproduction and lighting to your sunsets.
Also, one personal advice when using some, if not all of these mods: You will get BETTER EXPOSURE as well as LIGHTER SHADOWS when selecting your focus zone MANUALLY (within limits of your focus zone of interest, obviously). This goes for Daylight shots, as well as Nightshots, and another advice would be to try to select either a Dark area of your image (when shooting in daylight) OR one of the Brightest zones (for example, some streetlights at night), and then take the shot. The App should then do a better job at adjusting your Exposure, Contrast and Shadows, and this will greatly reduce risks of Under-Exposing or Over-Exposing your shots. When taking snapshots of people, in case the app can't detect their face, make sure you select it manually, you will definitely get brighter, more detailed skin results. It may be one extra-step, but I personally found out that it was usually worth doing!

Lots of improvements and modifications to improve processing speed, quality and reduce noise on different sensors. Some color improvements made on all lenses, especially the IR (ID4), which should now bring very close results to what you see on the viewfinder! Also added some Black & White mode, for those who fancy it.
The XML is set to 'HDR-Net' by default, which means it takes shots instantly (and processes them in a second or two). If you need higher-quality results, just turn it off (using the icon on the left side of the viewfinder) and it will then use 'HDR+Enhanced' mode (15 frames, for good low-light shots especially).
Regarding IR sensor, it uses the real 5 megapixels sensor, so do not expect very high quality shots, especially as we do not have any appropriate noise model in the GCam app yet for it.

'Exposure Compensation' (the 'White Sun' icon on the ViewFinder) is OFF by default. If your shots are too bright, just ENABLE it ('Blue Sun') and the exposure will be lowered.

There are just too many changes in this new release to keep the previous V5x iteration, so here comes V6, with lots of optimizations and improvements in every app department. It would just take too long to mention every modification done to it, but after hours spent working on this new version, I believe it should bring even better noise reduction, speed and overall image quality (compared to previous release).
This time, only 2 custom XMLs are provided: FAST & HQ! They are mostly similar but 'FAST' brings instant shots (using Zero-Shutter Lag -ZSL- mode by default), very fast processing and 12MP image resolution (about 2-4MB per shot), while 'HQ' comes with HDR+Enhanced by default (with as low as 1/5s Exposure time and 20 HDR frames, so be steady for a second or two if shooting at night / in low light!), increased image resolution (6 to 12MB per shot) and therefore some slightly longer image processing time. JPEG compression is kept at 97% for both profiles, as it is a sweet spot in terms of quality / image size.
You can also use 'FAST' xml and activate 'HDR+Enhanced' function in the Quick Settings panel, which should limit Exposure time to 1/15s, for slightly better quality while remaining fast to shoot & process. This is actually the XML that most people should use, but if for any reason you need to use 'HQ', just make sure you are steady / use some stable surface (or increase Exposure time to 1/10s to 1/13s). However, if you use a tripod or a perfectly stable surface, you can even decrease Expo time to 'Max'...
Everything is user-adjustable, especially the exposure time, which can be quickly accessed with some long-press on the Gallery icon. Same goes for the number of HDR frames, which can be reduced or increased (if you use HDR+Enhanced mode).
If your shots are too bright, make use of the Exposure Compensation function (the 'sun' icon) or simply touch the viewfinder area and manually adjust your exposure using the slider.
Almost everything should work, including front & back video from all sensors. There is still no distortion correction for UW sensor, but this is not something that can be solved on my side, unfortunately.

As always, take this new release as it is, or leave it, but please remember this is all done for free, took countless hours of (my) time to create and is in no way made by a team of experienced developers. As for anything in life, there is surely room for improvement, and I strongly encourage users to adapt my work to their liking. Please remember that "if you can't say anything nice about something, just don't say anything at all", or at least try to be nice when reporting bugs or suggestions for improvement. And one last thing: we all have different preferences when it comes to photography.
