Can someone please confirm steps I need to take so I don't screw up!

I update the tablet to latest firmware via OTA, enable dev options and oem unlock and flash the file downloaded from under the red text in the OP with Odin...
That will give me twrp and afterwards I just flash latest Magisk!
There is no need to flash no-verity file and data will be decrypted?

Or I misunderstood everything and first need to flash twrp and decrypt the data?

Thanks for your answer!
Just a quick question, my tablet is arriving today and I want to have everything ready for flashing. I downloaded the .zip and when I extract it I get two .tar files, I'm guessing I have to flash one that starts with the '2x1 mod' (2.1Gb) and I was wondering what is the second file for, the one that starts with 'BL_' (1.6Gb)?

Seems to be great so far... kind of wierd with it saying galaxy a 6 at boot, but thats no issue.

My main concern is that bluetooth seems to not initialize. Any ideas on why that would be? Thanks in advance...

Not sure if it should work on T585XXU3BRF1.

Getting blocked by binary check right now :(

---------- Post added at 09:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:30 AM ----------

Been trying for a few days now, the device is FRP locked and all the youtube solutions do not seem to work.

Getting blocked by Download mode binary check.

Any advice on how to get it working on T585XXU3BRF1 would be great.

Download Problem Solved

I was trying to download the file for my device (SM-T580), but after clicking on the mirror or primary link, the page/link would fail to open/download.

PMed repey6, and he gave me the fix instantly :good: Use another browser! I was using Chrome, switched to Firefox and download file with no issues.

Installed and now have stock 8.1 with TWRP recovery and Magisk root. After flashing the modified files and formatting data, I flashed Magisk v18.1, but had to install Magisk Manager manually.

In settings I do have a few extra tabs, like T roaming, Service Provider and Mobile Hotspot and Tethering. I'm assuming these come as part of the modded AP file? Is there anyway of getting rid of these or should I just resign myself to living with them?

Also, after using the device for a few minutes but not installing anything or changing anything, I get a SecurityLogAgent, Security notice saying "Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your device to undo any authorised changes." Any suggestions as to what I might try doing to fix or possible cause?

I used a de-Knox zip I found, in one of the Galaxy Tab A posts..... That took care of that message you're seeing. For me anyway. You can also use Titanium Backup to freeze that specific app. I can't remember exactly what it's called but it's a Knox based Logging app.

I was able to freeze the culprit alright and it stopped the warning, but kind of handy to the security too, can't have everything I suppose hehe

Deal breaker though is Bluetooth not working, so going back to stock. I do want to find a way of getting TWRP to stay and way of rooting, so back to the drawing board for me I'm afraid.

The answers you seek are here in the forum but I had to do a lot of trial and error attempts before i got it to work. If i get a chance tonight Ill post exactly what I did. I've rooted everything I've been able to over the years....this was the biggest pain. But, looking back now....it wasn't hard....just needed the right tools/steps.

The biggest issue I ran into is that many of the posts regarding recovery and root are for Nougat....things changed when the device updated to Oreo. Keep that in mind.

You need a different Odin and TWRP than the ones noted in the main threads.
