Make sure you set the permissions of the weather widget files you replaced to rw r r (read write read read ) then reboot it will work.

Are you deleting the old files or at least renaming them by adding the .bak at the end of the file name so they don't work and interfere with the new files you added?

Yes, I'm rooted, using Note 3 9005 with Kitkat 4.4.2

Fully working on Russia 4.4.2 But if you have odexed your Rom like I did . You need to delete weather widget.odex too and accuweather2013.odex

I'm not sure what version is, but it is the only one that stops FC when selecting cities and works animations and transparency.
