With 538 and wanmei the phone can feel slow after a while. Like after a day or two.

To fix it you don't need to restart. Just perform the cpu settings again I gave you pictures of. Like switch to L2 and then back to L3, and then choose "interactive" on the slow cores. Done. Phone is fast again, and you keep your 8-9h SOT.

Volte does not work with my Simcard.I think this works only in your Country.
I haven't heard any difference yet. I'll let you know if I find something.

How's your SOT? I'm still at 8h30m and that's without modifying apps through adb or root. I just disable/revoke permissions, and I remove ignore battery optimizations for almost everything. Doing this on any other version just resulted in like 5.5-6h at most on 539. But it was unreliable. Then the next day 539 could be down to 4h again. I don't understand.

Ok Thanks, it works with other cell phones. The SIM card can and my provider too.

3-3,5 of SOT.With 528,538,539,555.My Battery is 100% Dead
whatttt.. how can i get double the sot then? hmmmm

first open supersu, then mobile, grant permission...

then set your cpu performance to level 3... (before doing the next step)

then set the small cores to interactive in the other menu

make sure almost no apps can ignore battery optimizations

this is for wanmei b538

also.. you need to do this after every reboot! boom 8h SOT

Same Settings on my HN8.
I think the battery is too old from 2016 if it is not used. I have now installed it for 6 months.
Sorry to hear that. I don't understand how we can get the same SOT in other versions but not this.

For best charging practice remember to NEVER go over or at least avoid going over 4.200v. Check the pic.

When charging you can see a higher number but after charging it should never be over 4.2v

I've been on B538 for a few days but I'm now back on B555 with mobile apps.

No matter which ROM I use, the battery life is the same.

I need a new battery but not from 2016 but newer. Preferably from 2020.

On Aliexpress it is described as being from the year 19 or 20 but I got one from 2016.

No idea where to get a good original battery with a newer date.

Do you maybe know where to get a good one, you're from China right?

I live in China. I had a Xiaomi Max back in the day and I used to charge it to 100% all the time. The end result was that it needed a new battery after 1-2 years. There were only fakes. No matter how good the seller reviews were or how good/original the batteries looked, they're all third party made to look like originals. Maybe you can find a good quality third party battery if you choose the MOST popular seller that sells expensive third party batteries (own brand). I remember a brand called Nohon being one of those. 诺希 I believe. (It was a long time ago. Hard to remember.)

I never got one of those. I got one of the newer dated original looking batteries. In fact I got two of them from different sellers with good reviews. They were both pretty ****ty. None of them provided more charge than the battery I was trying to replace.

I think I never really solved it, or I solved it by buying an original used battery. Many original batteries that come from phones sold for parts "拆机" (opened device) don't have that many cycles on them.

Few cycles and 6 years old is FINE. It's better than a 3y old with 500 cycles. A 2016 with 100 cycles is MUCH better than a 2017 with 400 cycles. Not every phone owner is a power user like you and me. There might be few cycles on mamy of them.

Fakes are unlikely to provide any more capacity than old originals.

So I specifically look for USED batteries with OLD dates on the packs. 2016 or 2017. No seller would print 2017 on a battery if they try to sell a fake in 2023, right? That means it's likely original. Hopefully it's got few cycles on it.

That's what I would do if I were you. If it says "new" then don't buy it.

Either that or try an expensive Nohon pack or something. And of course after changing, NEVER charge past 4.200v. That way you will NEVER EVER need to replace that battery.

Good luck!

PS. I buy all my stuff on Xianyu 闲鱼 which is like taobao but for used stuff, and no fees for sellers. However it's not open for international sales. If I lived abroad and I couldn't find the product I'm looking for on Aliexpress, I would look for a seller that seems small but relatively reputable. Hopefully specializing in some used items in their catalog. Then I'd ask them for used original batteries. Even if they don't specifically sell Honor Note 8. Maybe they have used original Mate 8 batteries. Perfect. Ask that seller to have a look and check with their supplier. Buy two and test both, one will work better than the other.

My Note8 is filling up with apps and I'm amazed at how I'm nearly at 9h SOT. Don't give up man.

I suspect that charging to 4.2v gives you that extra SOT. But I didn't get it on the other versions. Just 538.

ok im on b528 now. i installed the b528 update_sd.zip from B356 in twrp and then installed the b528 via the DLOAD method.

I didn't think it would work that way, but it works.

That was a hara-kiri action hehe.

Now the next updates are coming.

Lucky again!

If your HiCare region is not set to China, set it to China, then search for an update either in HiCare or Settings -> Update. You will then be eligible for the push.

Haven't tried other Asian regions, but it wasn't pushing to my device with Europe set in HiCare.

Speed, battery life and network performance seem to be significantly improved.

Good news. I think I found the DLOAD package for B538. I'm downloading it now. (snail speed) I'll let you know tomorrow how it went, and I'll give you a link after I upload it to google drive.

Ok super. It's damn hard to find a good used battery.

In Europe, not many people have this cell phone.
    Besides, it's old.
But I'm still looking, maybe I'll get lucky after all
