I am new to android. I want to build AOSP rom for our device. Can I use the manifest xml file present here? Also I have the MT7-TL10 Will it work the device tree, kernel and proprietary blobs of MT7-L09?

Thanks in advance.
No, you can't for now.. I will soon add a branch to the local_manifest repo called "android-6.0.0_r1" and you can start from here. Please give me some time to organize my code and push repos :D

Well done Gabry! One question: Does or will the fingerprint scanner work on a non stock build? That's really the only thing holding me back when there will be a stable aosp build..

Today is an important day for Mate7 developing scene. A few weeks ago I re-started to work on cm but I realized that cyanogenmod framework (based on Android 6.0.1) is incompatible with the stock libraries provided in the stock ROM (based on Android 6.0) and that you are obliged to use to get the GPU work, so if huawei will change his way to write libraries (especially adapting them to Android AND NOT adapting Android to them) mainly for the next generation of phones, we could see a true implementation of other ROMs. As I didn't want to throw all the work done to the wind I switched to the Android AOSP the same version of the stock ROM, 6.0. So i worked for about an entire week, day and night, to get the stock ROM to boot and on the 29th of July I succeded. Then was very easy to get the wifi and bluetooth to work but the main problem was the telephony layer. After millions of trials and errors I get the ril-daemon to work but the aosp framework didn't recognize the signals sent by the modem, as they talk two different languages. I decided to decompile the huawei framework and there, after searching in millions of lines and after two entire days I realized were the problem was.
Today I built a perfectly booting AOSP ROM for the Mate7 where WiFi, Bluetooth, Telephony and 4G are working. But there are other things to fix, the system often crashes so I don't want to release anything for now but when I will reach an acceptable system I will start releasing the ROM. Grande Gabry!!!!!

Thanks, Gabry, for your effort. We may have some more life left in this phone, yet. I don't know why companies don't support Rom development. People will upgrade their phones regardless of custom Rom availability. Anyway, take your time and release when you're ready.

Little summer update

Hi everyone, I'm taking some relax as you know.. it's summer :p But I'd like thank you all for your support @Skorpi58 @Bassofondale @darkado @leonardus_magnus @paulopais @pjdpinheiro @lucpol @Registered Katamari @sbeaber4 @Kzyw @LeTerrible and anyone who follows this project

I'll try to answer everyone with a single post. I didn't released the Rom yet because it's very buggy and slow so we can't use it for everyday life but as I already said main parts as the telephony, bluetooth and wifi are working (except for gps, nfc and fingerprint). I also tried to flash gapps but everything is too much unstable. Main purposes now are:
- to find what is really slowing the system;
- to get the gps to work (it's essential);
- to reach a general acceptable fluency.
I don't know when I will release the rom, I think on September because now I am not working on this. Please don't expect a perfect rom as the nexus ones, remember that this development is totally forced and not 100% genuine because we have to use huawei libraries whose code is not public! My advice is always to change device if you don't like huawei emui.

It's a lot of work for a single person, every contributor is always welcome. Sources are always updated https://github.com/mt7-dev ;)

Stay tuned :fingers-crossed:

Fingerprint is a complex thing to get it to work because it's security-related, I cannot guarantee that it will work but I also don't want to say that it's impossible :/

Grande Gabry!! Will the first Aosp 6.0 ROM for mate7 be "Made in Italy"???
I think so! :fingers-crossed:

I have made an account (after regularly lurking on this site without registering for literally years since the days of HP PDAs and Windows Mobile 2003) just to say thanks for keeping at it and I am eagerly watching your progress!

No pressure! :D
That's Awesome! :D

Thank you! I think that companies have (or they think to have) their "special" system and modem optimizations that they don't want to share because of other brands competition, on the other hand I must admit that some way of coding, as for example modifying the android source to fits your needs, are totally awful.
