Will try it tomorrow and update you. As I had. 575 ftf, should be easy for me. But to be honest key is Twrp to install. Once Twrp there should able to root and install pre rooted firmware. But what I understand is root and recovery is link each other. Rooted device will get Recovery on the other hand if you have recovery then you able to root. Now I can't even manage to install one of them.
Anyway Thanks.

Hi ranf,
I did based on your thread. Unsatisfied and still having issue with recovery.
Mainly is OTA update gone as I unlocked the bootloader in order to install recovery.
Although give up OTA, there was no permanent TWRP CWM Philz recoveries are able to install on SGP511.
What I did here is, I got temp TWRP given by your thread. Mean while, I installed pre rooted firmware by kulvertti.
Was the recovery, root, firmware are hook up each other?
Please kindly share If you got any idea about recovery which able to install on latest firmware with lock bootloader.
Anyway really appreciate for your info.

Problem mate. I reckon to use flishfy to install image file after downloaded. Pop up error shows I could not install img as I don't have recovery partition. I can flash zip files.
Please help to advise.
Hi mate I tried the same way and never got to work how I done it was make sure you've got android tools on your PC pen a command prompt window as admin then using make sure adb.exe is running then turn off tablet peer up volume button then plug in the USB connected to your PC blue led will come on confirming your in fastboot mode then type the following in the cmd window

fastboot flash recovery pathTo/recovery.img

(Path to is the location of where the recovery.img is stored)

Hope that helps

I do have all tools. Flashtool/Sdk/adb/Prf and so on.
I've done that on latest official firmware with unlock bootloader. It's not work.
Anyway I will give a try your way again.
Just to verify. Now I was on pre rooted firmware. 23.5.A.1.291 6.0.1 with unlock bootloader.
Hope twrp will work with current my condition.
Mate thanks a lot.

It should work mate after I flashed the recovery and rebooted when the pink light appears keep hitting the volume up button and you should just go straight into recovery

If you read and follow op and links then you see no need to unlock the bootloader, not to mention this isn't even the correct place to be discussing methods involving such. Kulvertti and others have posted many times over the correct way to use the prerooted firmware......starting with rolling back to rootable firmware and so on.......

Good day Mate, it's worked.
I think my mistake on quick boot app as I thought by pressing recovery button it will send to me to recovery mode automatically.
Same thing on Pc, it wasn't on command fastboot reboot, adb reboot recovery.
Actually, it's need to play volume up and down buttons while device on green led to get recovery mode.
Sorry to bother all.
Thanks for the time and support.

@kulvertti: Thank you very much for the reupload and your constant support in this thread!!! :good:

/E: Just a quick update: I updated my SGP512 from "23.5.A.0.570" to "23.5.A.1.291" from the #1 post. At first sight everything was fine, the device booted and so on. But as I watched a video from a certain app the device just rebooted everytime I started a video. The solution was to flash the "bootloop fix" from the #1 post. Maybe this helps someone in the future with the same issue.

Does anyone else have issues with the dual part of the dual recovery? My rom is working OK with root and twrp, but I can't get into philz/cmw by tapping vol up (I have installed the bootloop fix BTW). I tried flashing the latest xzdual recovery from twrp and it a bootlooped and I had to redo the whole thing from ftf. When I installed ndrutils from the market (neither it nor supersu were installed by the flashable zip) it didn't detect the prop file and told me it was about to perform a factory reset when I tapped the reboot to primary recovery button!

That's because Dualrecovery isn't compatible with this firmware version anymore. Neither NDRUtils. So only custom recovery installed is TWRP.

LOL. That explains it. Thanks. I wish NUT had mentioned that on the dual recovery download page.

It's annoying though as the backup of my old rooted stock system was with Philz and if I want to go back I'll have to ftf an old rom, root it and then flash my previous installation backup. So far this seems to work well.

In the end I flashed back to rooted stock android 5 again. This is the second time I've tried android 6 and gone back to 5! Youtube didn't work well, even after I removed the system app and addons and reinstalled from the market. Also, I had major delays with connecting to Wifi after sleep and the battery life was worse. My android 6 and 7 on my Sony X Compact work great. It's a shame Sony just haven't tried very hard with the software updates for this device. :(

I've honestly had no issues at all on latest rooted firmware, battery is good, no wifi issues at all on my WiFi only device.
