See post 90 in this thread. Flashing Dualrecovery again fix similar problem.
My bootloader is unlocked so simply flashing the dual recover zip is probably not going to work. I will look at possibly relocking with flashtool to see if that helps and then try to flash the dual recovery zip in twrp

Whats new/better with 5.1.1? With my Z1 Xperia , upgrading to 5.1.1 made a world of difference because the 5.0.2 was terribly botched.
Do i gain anything flashing the new version on the Z2 Tab?
The 5.0.2 FW is very good on the Z2 tablet. If you don't need the very small new features of 5.1.1, simply stay on 5.0.2 and enjoy your device.

Relocking the bootloader, doing a full wipe with TWRP and then installing reinstalling this update zip seemed to fix everything. Thank you for the tips

OP updated. Added latest 23.4.A.1.200_Customized_NCB 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware. Working just fine but this time Sony has removed Stagefright fix for some reason. Also Sony has made some changes in their update system so latest firmware don´t show up in XperiFirm (yet).

Thank you, Kulvertti, the new firmware worked like a charm. I have to reapply your "Permission to use External Cards" fix that your wrote to make my apps to use the MicroSD card.

No i mean the flashable fix one can find here on xda

Gesendet von meinem SGP511 mit Tapatalk
Sorry, it was partial answer because have to do something else with family. As far as I know flashable fix is device specific and may not work very well with all devices and roms. Haven't got time to try but with nandroid backup please try and report back.

Can I ask a quick question please? I haven't made a prerooted firmware for my xperia z2 tablet since 23.1.A.1.28 so I'm a bit rusty.
I searched around for this answer but couldn’t find anything so thanks for any help I can get.
Once I'm in FlashTool64-0.9.19.8.exe creating my .ftf I now find 3 .ta files instead of two like before with 23.1.A.1.28 firmware.
Now in 23.4.A.1.200 firmware, I see cust-reset.ta, fota-reset.ta, and simlock.ta ….so do I strip out all three or just the first two like before in 23.1.A.1.28 firmware.
Thanks again.

To be on safe side remove all .ta files.

Thanks for all your help and hard work. I got a few questions I hope you will help.

In PRFCreator_v1.0, assuming this is what you used, did you make your zip with Legacy Mode checked or unchecked? Or does it matter?

I made my own prerooted 23.4.A.1.200_R4C zip for my SGP512 US tablet basically how you explain except I didn’t know about the Legacy Mode.

I also signed my zip which worked before so I did it again, but on the PRFCreator thread everyone says don’t sign, so I was curious what you do?

I only do this stuff a couple times a year so I get foggy about the procedure, especially when the device has been heavily used with all sorts of stuff added and customized over time.

So I already had prerooted 23.1.A.1.28, SuperSU-v2.46, and dualrecovery2.8.15 installed on device since the beginning, per your instructions way back when.

And I know how to flash my new prerooted 23.4.A.1.200_R4C zip, assuming I made it correctly with the Legacy Mode thing, but what I don’t know is about the backups and the wiping and when to do them and if I need to do them, etc….

Also, will flashing the zip cause me to lose all the extra stuff I've done to the tablet or installed apps, customizes, etc…or do I use titanium backup before flashing and then restore it after flashing or some mix of these events? Or one of the recovery backups if I make a new one before flashing? Thanks again for the help.

Legacy mode is for very old firmware so...

There is no need to sign your zip because TWRP can flash unsign firmware just fine. Signing can produce some hickups but also can work just fine...

With TWRP do back up with kernel, system and data. For wiping at least cache and dalvik cache. If you came from other than stock firmware also system. There is no point to wipe before flashing your new firmware so do it after flashing and before booting up.

Depends where exactly you do your customizings. If on system you have to do them again or use your backup. Clean table is allways the best because there might be problems with different firmwares but with backup there is no problem.

I got an `update available` message, but after download it says `could not be verified`. Any ideas? Do I have to flash the whole firmware or is there just an update available? I am on Flashable.23.4.A.0.570_R5C_TW_1281-8201_by_kulvertti with R6C automatcally updated.

Basically if rooted and custom recovery installed you can't update your firmware with ota or normal pcc update. For keeping root and custom recovery you need to flash prerooted firmware update with custom recovery.

Hello,

The installation went very well. Everything works perfectly. But I have a problem with the directory permissions system /. I cannot pass him in write mode. I tried with root explorer, with adb remount function and others. I originally wanted to remove bloatwares but titanium backup cannot and system app remover either. Can you help me please?
