Have you tried with "byeselinux"? First run .bat -file and then try some of the ric disabler. How ever this is kind weird as XZDualrecovery should do this to your device if correctly installed.
No, not yet. But a quick view inside this archive shows me that it is trying the same things as RICDefeat and others. "modulecrcpatch" tries to patch the kernel module wp_mod.ko with crc checksums of another module.

By the way: How could XZDualrecovery solve my problems?
In one of the initscripts (it was init-sonyplatform.sh if I remember correctly) Sony enables RIC with "write /sys/kernel/security/sony_ric/enable 1" at some point. And as far as I know this disables to mount /system and / read-write. Correct?
So if I'm right there are two possible ways:
1st: Disable RIC, either with wp_mod.ko or "manually" within in a init script
2nd: Use another kernel with no RIC compiled in.
A recovery just can temporary disable all restrictions to install something into the original system that disables RIC at some point in the boot process.

???
Sorry, 'bout this - but I'm a little bit confused.
The File (#1 Post)
is: Flashable_SGP511_23.4.A.1.232_R3C_Cu…9_by_kulvertti.zip
SGP511 ?
I'm using SGP521 - is it a correct version ?

Hi

Here are flashable zip file wich installs latest Sony stock 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM 23.4.A.1.232_R3C (Customized CE4), latest SuperSu v2.46 and latest Dualrecovery 2.8.21 with read and write acces to system. Because device is Wi-Fi only region doesn´t matter. Only difference is bloatware. This update include Stagefright fix.
I have something worth mentioning I think, when you use the latest Stagefright Detector app from Zimperium (version 5.0), it will show you there is 1 vulnerability left open which is the CVE-2015-6602 one from Zimperium's Stagefright library.
This CVE is part of what is also known as 'Stagefright Part 2' which is related to mp3/mp4. The other one which was introduced, CVE-2015-3876 is fixed as far as i can see in this .232 firmware.
Hopes this clears up some assumption and implications for you people.

As always, don't kill the messenger > blame Sony. (Boss-like in locking stuff down to the bone, sueing people when they get hacked. But unable to 'fix' a couple CVE's which blows their complete mobile device line-up.. (That's! -Only Sony- Make. Believe.)

R3C means customizer's revision. CE4 means Central Europe. For rooting your device see post #152.

I have an issue with Adaway being unable to write a host file after flashing this rom, it worked fine in your earlier releases of lollipop. Clean install no other tweaks, I hoped the permission fixes that was posted would work but nope, it solved the issue of write access to my sdcard though.

Try if reflashing XZDualrecovery again via TWRP can fix your problem. If trying latest release candidate version (2.8.22) remember to flash XZDR-removaltool first and before rebooting your device flash latest flashable XZDualrecovery. You can find all files mentioned here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/

That worked flawlessly, thanks, you're awesome! And a super quick response to boot :)

I think I've used your roms pre lollipop and it have been great. Do all firmware get updated when flashing Xperia devices? I'm more used to HTC in which roms didn't include firmware and I used to flash it separately via fastboot.

You are welcome. Not sure if I understand your question correctly. This is one way to install whole firmware with everything and include root and custom recovery. How ever if you want you can make it differently. With locked bootloader I don't see any benefit to make it any more complicated than this is.

I have no access to the service menu. How do I know if my tablet has the bootloader unlocked?
As mentioned you can install several app from Playstore to get acces service menu on xperia devices. Or on your device you can
1. Open Contacts app
2. Click menu button
3. Click settings button
4. In that window you need to long press (maybe 5 seconds or so) area just above your navigation bar and then release and you get "enter service code". Press it and enter *#*#7378423#*#* and you are in service menu.
5. In service menu go to Service info/Configuration and there you see Rooting status which show if "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes/No or empty" and also if your bootloader is allready unlocked. How ever it can´t show if your bootloader is relocked.
If you want you can also check your drm keys status in service menu by going to Service tests/Security and you can see if "Key OK" and "Active".

Hi
probably I've another stupid question which I found really no answer for.
Youtube alway tells me "There was a problem while playing, Touch to retry".
When I completely clear the apps cache partition it will work for some time but I doesn't take long to display this message again.

Is there any solution for this known? I've read posts about reinstall OS or similar, but everything I tried will not work for long.

I had the same issue on Saturday. This is what I did:

- Go to Settings-->Apps and delete all data from Youtube
- Reboot

Works since then (I have just tried it out to make sure it still works)

Already tried this and other very much other so called tips. The result was every time the same - Works for a limited time and suddenly stopped.
I hope there is a permanent fix for this very annoying bug...

I already tried:
Fixed DNS (which is no option)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaVKaDoh2WU

Delete Data (works sometimes only)

"Restrict app background data"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cEsVy4fdd0

and many many others. Clearing the app cache partition seems to be the only thing that works for one or two days so far.
I've to say only my Z2 Tablet has this problem. None of my other devices ever had this and I've many of them! (N4, N5, N7 2012, N7 2013, N10, Asus Trnasformer Pad) so it must be something with Sony.... And it is since Lollipop, never before.
