Good news for you people . The swype in our g3 can be updated to the latest beta as it now supports our phone's resolution.
Follow these steps to update (you need a rooted phone) :
First of all you'll have to remove the swype that came preinstalled. This can be done by removing swype.apk (and the corresponding odex file if you are on a non deodexed rom)
From /system/app
And libSwypeCore.so from /system/lib this can be done using root explorer or adb (back up these files just in case). Then reboot your phone go to https://beta.swype.com/android/create/
Register and follow instructions they're easy

Note: It only supports english and spanish .
