Not directly, only to select it as default location.

Installed and working well but still apps see the device as a phone rather than a tablet and store the phone version of app interface. Not very satisfactory.

I am realy nob in this stuff, and I don't know if this is the best way to do the update. I am not responsable in any damage to your device.

1. first you don't have to be root
2. download the firmware finder app in play store
3. check for updates, and enable the proxy options in settings
4. write in the manual proxy name: localhost and 8080 in port
5. you have to chose the correct firmware update and then send it to the originall updater of M3
6. update your tablet.

I dont know if is necessary but first I did the previus update that I didnt have yet and then I do the update to emui 5.

How to update BTV-DL09C100 Huawei Mediapad M3 to Nougat BTV-DL09C100B301

Hello Everyone,
I am happy to report that updating my Huawei media pad m3 to nougat has been very smooth.

My device
BTV-DL09 European firmware
This is the path I followed
BTV-DL09C100B006 - > BTV-DL09C100B009 (from Huawei website) -> BTV-DL09C100B010 (firmware finder) -> BTV-DL09C100B301 (firmware finder)

Updating to B009 is easy, just download from Huawei website. Link from another thread.
http://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/search/index.htm?keywords=btv-dl09&t=SupportSearch

Install the latest version of firmware finder from play store

After you get to B009 use the firmware finder to go to B010
How to use firmware finder?
Inside the firmware -> go to settings-> switch on the option -> add on proxy

Now go to your Wi-Fi settings
Tap and hold your Wi-Fi connection
You should get two options
Select "modify network"
Select - "manual" option
Then add the below in the respective fields
Proxy - > localhost
Port -> 8080

That's it. Save the settings. If you don't see the update here then go to firmware finder and select the firmware you want to download - > click on "send firmware to updater" . And then go back to updater in settings and check. you should see the OTA to update.

Now go to settings - > updater-> you should see update for B010 205mb
Once you are done, again go to updater. Now you should see the update for B301. This is 2.42gb
Just click on update and wait for it to finish. It will reboot twice. Wait for it to finish optimizing the system.

You have Android nougat now on your BTV-DL09
Operating system is gorgeous. It is very similar to what I found on Huawei mate 8.
I am happy with all the visual changes and settings.

I am enclosing screenshots for all to have a look.

Have fun updating. I would recommend updating to nougat without any hesitation. This is safe way.
Don't forget ????????

?
Cheers!
Sam

Hi. Thank you for you reply.
Not in apps??
On my Honor 7 move apps to SD card:
Well it says here that "19,44mb are stored in internal storage", maybe if you set SD card as default location the data will be stored on the SD Card. However, moving Apps directly to SD Card is not possible, but it was also not possible under 6.0 MM.

I made the update yesterday thru My PC,mine say update failed but after reboot my Mediapad Is on Android 7.0,so I don't know why say "failed" I found some differences from marshmallow here are:
1- not update settings option
2-finger print sensor is not working when I choose the" show the navigation bar " option ,before the update I can press the FP to go Home.
3-right now apps like Netflix don't support multiwindows like before.

How to fix NRD test keys in Huawei Mediapad M3 & update to Nougat BTV-W09

I made the update yesterday thru My PC,mine say update failed but after reboot my Mediapad Is on Android 7.0,so I don't know why say "failed" I found some differences from marshmallow here are:
1- not update settings option
2-finger print sensor is not working when I choose the" show the navigation bar " option ,before the update I can press the FP to go Home.
3-right now apps like Netflix don't support multiwindows like before.
Picture below:
I saw the picture.
Yes u don't have that "update" option.
Here is what you can do to solve your problems.

1) Use rollback package from Huawei link I have given.
http://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/search/index.htm?keywords=btv-dl09&t=SupportSearch
Check the screenshot
Use Dload method
create a folder in the external SD card & name it as dload
put the rollback update.app in that dload folder
Switch off the tablet
Press volume up + down + power - all at same time
You will get that screen for updating.
Release the buttons and it will rollback to EMUI 4.1

2) Once that is done, your tablet will show the right build number & not that NRD-keys

3) Now check the the Huawei website again from step 1 and this time download the B006 firmware for your W09 model.

4) It is better you save that rollback package to some other folder after you rollback. That is a very important file.
Now put the update.app of that firmware again in that dload folder that you created before removing the previous rollback package from that folder.

5) Do the steps 3 and 4 only if your model is C100B006 for W09 model. If your model is different then use firmware finder and follow the below instructions (Below steps are very important. firmware finder can push the two zips as one update.app to your updater. So do this correctly.

Now go to your Wi-Fi settings
Tap and hold your Wi-Fi connection
You should get two options
Select "modify network"
Select - "manual" option
Then add the below in the respective fields
Proxy - > localhost
Port -> 8080

That's it. Save the settings. If you don't see the update here then go to firmware finder and select the firmware you want to download - > click on "send firmware to updater" . And then go back to updater in settings and check. you should see the OTA to update.

6) you should be able to update to higher OTA using firmware finder - remember to check the model in firmware finder. If it is not showing correct model then change the model and search for correct firmware.

7) Use dload method to update to next higher firmware for your model. for my model I had to update from B006 to B009 then to B010 and only then I updated to nougat. So check for your model which firmware is next. Do not skip or jump from lower firmware to nougat directly. I read in one Italian firmware & they have specifically mentioned to follow this rule. Not sure why but it is better to do it that way just to avoid any surprises.

One more site to get stock firmware's check this Russian site - http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php

8) Factory reset in case you still have problems after all the steps.

Hope this information is useful for you and solves all your problems.

Don't forget :good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good:
