i have successfully mapped the camera shutter to the power button.

Camera v7 FEATURES:

• Camera Modded for DDLF2 and all the features from v6.1

CAMERA in MUSIC ® HacK HERE

Camera v6.1 FEATURES:

• Camera can be opened in Music Player

Camera ® With Audio Hack HERE

Camera v6 FEATURES:

• Audio Bit Rate increased to 256kbps (stock 64kbps)
• Audio Sampling Frequency increased to 44KHz (stock 16KHz)
• Power Button and Low Battery Hack

Camera v3 FEATURES:

1. Power button can be used as camera shutter to take photos.
2. Power button mapped to camcorder also. One click starts recording and another click stops recording
3. Low battery hack in both image and video mode. You can use camera below 15% of battery.
4. Can start camera on calls.

WORKS ON ALL DEODEXED 2.3.6 GB ROMS

Instructions:

1. Download and extract the appropriate zip file attatched
2. Copy and replace Camera.apk in /system/app/ using root explorer
3. Set permissions to rw-,r--,r--
4. Reboot

ENJOY TAKING PHOTOS

N.B. Single press on power button will automatically focuses and takes photo. Long press goes to power menu.

Not sure wether its universal. You try and inform me. Take a backup of your camera.apk. Try mine if it works succesfully report here. Also mention your firmware

pressing the power off button auto-focus itself and takes the snap
am on DDKP2 2.3.6

Tested on XXKPQ.. and it works like a charm
Short press : snap!!!
Long press : Toggle Mode Pop [reboot etc]

It really works on kpq..and i agree that to make it pause and record on video mode would be better..

great work buddy I think vdo button will not work. It will overlap the previous image button map. Same mod i have seen in sgs thread 5-6 months ago.
