I did originally put the rom on the SD card when I flashed the first time. I did try through twrp to do that again after no os. Need to maybe try a different download and check md5. Going to play some more shortly.

I use odin to root stock then reboot back to download and odin again to install Twrp. Make a backup of stock now if you want then use twrp to install rom. Works!

Seems that I had a total noob moment. But all is not correct yet. I was using an early version of twrp that had a bunch of updates to fix cache issues, backup and restore etc. Now, with the newest version, (just like the OP said to use) I was able to restore my original back up.

SO now that I am back up and running, I let the back up update itself, and verified that it backed up again. When I go to flash the debloated rom- It skips the md5 check, because it says it doesnt have an md5, then it tries to flash then fails. I tried the original down load and the mirror CA. Both do the same thing for me. So for now, I'm on my backup. Anyone else have this issue?

No I didn't. That means you may have a bad download, I would download again and go from there.

I've downloaded it 3 times. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the actual files on the server as I did it from the mirror as well.

I might try again tonight. Have to get some things done today lol.

UPDATE: I unchecked the file signature check in TWRP, and got it to flash. It flashed so quickly that I thought it failed again! Anyway, letting it settle and apps downloading. Im off to get samsung account sync back. As thats all I need back in the rom for me. Looking forward to seeing how smooth it should be, compared to stock. Thanks for all the help!

Can anyone who has this up and running tell me what you fresh boot settled RAM usage is please? I have debloated some on my own after rooting but the device still runs well above 1GB of RAM in use. Bothers me when trying to do notes for school and the pen input starts lagging in snote. In fact several other apps do a much better job of handling the pen input, I think papryus may have become my primary note taking application.

One is going to be the pinboard.apk I figured out, which is frozen. So you can just rename it from pinboard.apk.bak to pinboard.apk, reboot and get that back. The other you need to try to figure out the name of the service. I'm guessing it might be sCloudDataSync.apk for the snote stuff. You'll need to research it and get back to me then I can pull it out of the image for you.
So its up and running. Damn smooth, thanks! What I would want to achieve, is the ability to have Samsung account ability in settings/general. Like adding a google account. Is there an apk that can achieve that, or is it more in depth? Between renaming sfinder and pinboard, this would complete the Rom for myself. Any thoughts on that, or where I might find it in ES?

You really need to work on your reading. The wrong version of TWRP, even when it was linked, the md5s are listed directly under the links, the apks you need are listed in it, etc.

edit: sorry if that sounds pissy. It's meant to be more jokingly chiding.

I do most my math in snote so it can be converted so someone could actually read it. Chemistry stuff I use the shape recognition for. If I'm just taking notes and writing I use lecture notes. Then import pictures and stuff from snote into it.

As to your boot question. I have a few apps loaded already but looking on startup my mem with touchwiz is 1.27-1.35gb.

I use nova as my launcher normally, with that it sits at around 1.33gb. But I have not loaded most my stuff back on it that's from it about 97% clean from fresh install.

If I remember from the few times I checked in stock it was like 2.0-2.2gb or something ridiculous. I remember being real put off seeing them put all this high end hardware into a device and cripple it with their own stuff.

With the way android memory management works one ends up chasing their tail as they debloat or greenify applications in an attempt to free up ram. Other applications end up moving up the ranks and are cached in available memory to speed up their eventual launch times. As I've continued to debloat my note pro this has been my observation, with my main goal being the removal of applications that float to the top that I don't use (I monitor this using system monitor app). I've never seen the south side of 1.2gb and my current setup is more debloated than the rom posted here. Of course I also have a bunch of other apps installed too...

We really need someone who can make a custom kernel for the 12.2 wifi I have said this before - how can we get someone to do this? How much money do we have to offer?
I PM'ed the guy who is doing the custom Exynos kernel for the Note 2014. Which is basically the same device internally. He never responded. Someone is making a custom Exynos kernel for The Tab S 10.4 and 8.4. Maybe some one should contact him.

I'd like to say a big thanks for making this ROM.

I didn't even bother to root the 12.2 that I've had for some time since there wasn't a (stable) ROM that was available.

Now I'm good and I'm actually using my 12.2, muchas grassyass for taking the time to do this!

Any chance anyone (or the Dev?) has or can get the APK for the Note 10.1 music player?

I like that one so much better than the one that's in this ROM / stock player.
You should probably ask in the help for the note 10.1 forum then. They would be the ones with readily available access to the files if they have the device. There's no guarantee it will work on the 12.2 until you try it though.

I prefer poweramp myself.
