Rooted & unlocked B/L but do I need to root again ?

Can anyone advise please..I'm in the middle of trying to backup current T-mobile (2.2.2) stock ROM & then installing CM7 beta.

I followed this guide to root my T-Mobile Atrix http://briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-root
I then installed both TitaniumB & Rom Manager to test. All seemed good..

I then followed this guide to unlock the bootloader(((http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...97&postcount=1))) and again all seemed to run according to plan BUT I noticed that this process had wiped the above software off, so I installed Titanium & Rom Manager again but upon running Titanium it said it could not gain root access, is this normal ? Do I just need to root again ?
Advice would be REALLY appreciated !

I would root again, can't hurt. Unlocking the bootloader may have wiped your root.

Thanks for the awesome guide!
I just have one quick question, is it better to unlock the bootloader first or root the phone first? or does it not matter either way?
I want to get cm7 on my phone but i dont want to screw up and hard brick, already happened once to me

I'd probably unlock the bootloader first, just in case the unlock process wipes your root.

I didn't want to open a thread when i only have a quick question

Whenever I flash a blur-based rom -custom or stock (not cm7), it still has some reminiscence of previous setting - most obvious is the main screen.

For example, a quick note widget with content and a whatsapp app shortcut show up on the Home screen even though they should be wiped from system/cache/davik wipe before flashing a rom

My procedure:

Wipe Dalvik Cache (under advanced in CWM)
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe data/factory reset

fastboot -w
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase user data
fastboot erase webtop
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase preinstall
fastboot reboot

Install ZIP

Is it normal that some of the previous settings are retained?

No, shouldn't be... I would tend to think that all widgets would be wiped and replaced anew as well, especially when you wipe data/factory reset or fastboot -w. Maybe it's a blur thing??? Don't really know, since I never really used any blur widgets, or blur in general. Sorry, I couldn't be more help, maybe someone else will know more.

I would also tend to think that if you went to a de-blurred rom, then those widgets, and left over blur parts would be gone, since you getting rid of the associated programs/apps???

I thought so too
I have gone between Cm7 and some of the Blur-based roms
and everytime I install a blur rom, all the settings are retained

Hello members

Hi, this is my first time here, so I don´t need to tell I´m a Noob

I realllyyy appreciated what you guys are doing for all of us, guides and step procedures.

I bought an Atrix (not sure if it is a 4G, since Brazil is only working on 3G).
I didn´t know anything about ROMs, SBfs.... anywayz, I was in stock version 1.2.6, Froyo 2.2.2 and tired for waiting for Gingerbread (wich didn´t reach our country yet), somehow following some steps here, I :

1. Unlocked the bootloader
2. Rooted my device
3. Flashed HOME BASE #2 / HoneyComb theme

And I really loved it!!
I can tell that I am very lucky, since I didn´t know anything about what I was doing, and didn´t hard bricked my phone (you guys are amazing!)!!

I looked over for the infos that I needed (search button) and I couldn´t find it, all I want to know is my phone is saying that I am 2.3.4. Am I Gingerbread?
Why would people want go back to stock version? (I found this answer but I didn´t quite understand)

If I am posting in a wrong place, please forgive this retarded Noob. And let me know.
Thanks
