i renamed it to a date - then renamed it to "cleanedrom" - no success ... md mismatch. i downloaded and copied 2 more times and then checked the md5 file and the md5info of every singe image inside. all is correct but i just cant restore.

any idead? maybe because im using macos (problems with the SD filesystem?) i REALLY dont get it :(

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this forum and new to android so if i am saying something that is wrong, just correct me!

First of all, thank you for this great ROM!

(I started with the Defy Blur V.2.21.0 with Firmware 2.1update1 Version. I bought it in Germany. Of course I just HAD do do something about the laggy Blur stuff and void the warranty as soon as possible ;) so i did some research and decided to install this ROM.)

I experienced the same problems some others had when trying to install from the .ZIP file
(which i had put on the sd card via my mac and usb. installing... no change for half an hour...taking battery out an bs alike).

After read the above posts and went through the Recovery Menu i took the content of the .ZIP file, put it into a folder on the sd card in /goapk/backup and renamed the folder after another folder (containing my original backup) Of course i changed the name of the new folder containing the deblurred ROM to a different time.

I then used the backup/restore -> restore option and chose the renamed folder. Everything worked fine, it was nice to see the android symbol and all...

I hope I did the right thing and this helps others...

Two questions,

1. What sort of battery life you you guys getting out of this rom, im getting about 2 days on the standard blur rom but with launcher pro used instead (system is all standard no blur stuff removed).

2. Does this rom sign you into google for contact, mail & calendar syncing?

It seems every Defy rom, including the official ones give you about two days. I use a different one, the 2.34.1 without a lot of system packages removed, but battery life is the same.

As for question two, unless the google packages were removed, it will.

I'm not expert on android, and I don't know if the files you mention have to be executed or just unpacked, but if you have to run them you should chmod files to 755.

why all the files in /system/app have 644?
apk isn't executable, so why it should be +x to all?

anyway, it works fine for me. i made an back up, restored original one(i just got to do some with my apps) and the restored this one, i backed up hour ago. and all works. Maybe this would help anyone.

Copy the files he gave to system/app folder. Then with root explorer click hold on every file you pasted and change permissions to read and write. This is possible only in paid version of root explorer. Reboot.

Inteks, can you please give us a zip containing all the apks you removed?

I'd like to get back some of them such as: Gmail.apk, Messaging.apk, QuickContactWidget.apk, Quickoffice_BasicViewer_2.0.52.apk,
VoiceCommands.apk or WeatherWidget.apk...

Thanks

I still got no idea to reintegrate BlurEmail.apk (though BlurEmailEngine.apk stayed in /system/app) to get back full contacts support for "Corporate Sync"-accounts.

Just copying the standard-file retained from 2.34.1CE into /system/app, setting permissions to 644 like the other surrounding files and final reboot won't succeed.

Titanium Backup entry made out of standard-rom couldn't be played back (shown in picture).

I'll be thankfull for any advice!

solved: all right. I have forgotten that i should'nt use any odexed files on my deodexed system. shame on me. After struggling with deodexing all this for myself again i just extracted the needed package out of 'FrozenEclair_V2.34.1.zip' found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879209
Just copied it with permissions 644 to /system/app and rebootet. That's it!
This should fit for every other missing package in inteks Rom.

Thank you VERY much, your little trick worked out-of-the-box with the original SD-Card from the defy. Had the same Problems, flashing everything else worked fine except of this ROM.

Also a big thanks to inteks for providing this ROM.

Greetings from Bremen :)

Thank you very much. The clean rom runs very smoothly and fast. After setting the right permissions for gmail, this works again, too.

Only problem I have right now is I am not able to add a facebook account. I have the official facebook app installed and in the account settings facebook appears, but touching it resolves in no action.

Not sure if this is because of something you took out, though. Any suggestions?

Thanks again,
