sorry,

i was using the guide qbking77 has on youtube..with the htcdev guide. i was on step 8 Type in Command Prompt: fastboot oem get_identifier_token.
So you're not using my guide? Do you have the latest HTC drivers installed? I list them in my OP. Make sure you are plugging your phone into a USB slot that is DIRECTLY connected to your computer. Not the ones in the front. Use the ones in the back. Sometimes fastboot and ADB in general gets picky about ports that aren't USB 2.0.

If you follow my guide it should work. People have been using this guide for a while now with no issues. :)

htc s-off 2.09

I use dirtyracun an baby racun it was easy I used only Ubuntu live cd like the said. it took longer to make cd then do get promts ready for process to run. i'm very thankful to team unlimited cause I have 2.09 hboot. I have heard as of 2 days ago that got some tool were you no longer have to downgrade using the process. which makes it real easy;)

You're talking about apples and oranges. dirtyracun gives you S-off. You still need to root to gain superuser access to your device.

sorry,

i downloadsing the guide qbking77 has on youtube..with the htcdev but i was on step 8 Type in Command Prompt: fastboot oem get_identifier_token.
I used his video also. I click on the downloaded and sdk first files to pc. Then go to htcdev unlock bootloader an if you have the rt sdk files an rru download everything should work fine. My wife runs s-on just unlock bootloader an root. That how I did hers for her.

You're confusing people. Please stop it. I have s-off on this phone too. And I used dirtyracun to do it. You STILL NEED TO ROOT YOUR PHONE AFTER S-OFF. THIS THREAD IS ABOUT ROOTING YOUR PHONE. NOT OBTAINING S-OFF.

I dis agree with you but ok I will stop I have rooted like 20 phones not saying that's a lot just saying so if I'm confusing people I will stop wasting my time on trying to help do what I do in mins to a phone that needs unlock an root. Have fun with it ;)

It's fine to disagree with me. I'm not going to compete with you. I've literally helped HUNDREDS of people root their devices. Rooting and s-off are two separate things.

You're free to create your own thread and say that they are the same. Be prepared to be called out on the carpet for it because you're wrong. But to come into a well established thread and confuse people seeking guidance is wrong also. It's against the very reason I created this thread. That being to simplify the rooting process.

Thanks.

Again...where do you have it plugged in? Use the back usb ports directly connected to your motherboard. Not the front.
Also the error you're getting suggests your bootloader is locked. Did you unlock your bootloader via HTC's website?

Sent from the rabit hole.

Like I was saying yesterday his command prompt won't work because he needs to download sdk files then go to htcdev pic unlock bootloader qbking77 has a good video on that if u need help. After you have done that follow qbking77 video on rooting your phone(if needed) an you should have no problem. Don't get mad I posted on here.

No he doesn't need to download the full adb/sdk file. He can use the zip file I posted in my op. Look man I'm only upset that you keep posting bad info. This thread has been around for a while. And you obviously haven't read my op. So rather then just continue fighting with you over your incorrect information I'll just place you on ignore and hope that people can see for themselves you're wrong. Have a good day.

Also had you read my op you would have noticed I gave people a choice to install adb AND I have qbking's video up there showing how to do that. But apparently all you want to do is troll my thread with bad or half informed info.

Sent from the rabit hole.

My bad fellas. i didn't mean to start an argument. i was just trying to root this for my mom thats all.

as far as the ports go, i know not to use the front usb or usb hubs when flashing. so thats not the issue. it was I forgot to unlock the bootloader. thanks for pointing that out.

so now i'll just finish the rest of the instructions.

just to be clear above the part where it says unlocked, its supposed to say tampered?

***edit***

worked, thanks my dude

nice thanks....

now to gt that s-off
I used unlimited.io/dirty racun. Lucky for you they just came out with a way where you don't have to downgrade before doing it. Makes it lots easier. I would go check there site out an only use their directions. I ran a live cd of unbuntu. I WOULD NOT use windows the brick rate is unreal due to windows drivers as stated on team unlimited website. They have a thread on here also for questions.
