I found out there was an updated firmware for the t-mobile galaxy note 3, but i couldn't find the bl and cp downloads anywhere, so i decided to just extract and make them available myself. ive uploaded to my phone, on which i am running a 6.0.1 rom with galaxy s8 features. it loaded perfectly fine, and believe it or not, my signal has improved signifigantly! i hope it stays that way. im just sharing in case anyone else was in my predicament, and wanted to make it easy to find. all you need is odin 3.11.1, and the bootloader and modem (bl and cp) available below. if you need to know how to use odin, search it, theres tons of info on xda. just in case something goes wrong with your phone, or youre worried it might, dont do it, and blame the phone gods if something goes wrong.

What's the version? Can anyone else confirm this worked for them?
Seems to be an old bootloader :/

Update-- or maybe it's not flashing? very odd.. heimdall says it is.

Totally weird. I'm seeing the string N900TUVUFQD2 in modem.bin but after I flash it, it' still being listed as the B6 one... super strange. It's like the flash isn't "taking"

I am in the same boat firmware OB6 going to QD2. I've tried Odin 3.11 or 3.12; show successful but Phone INFO still shows OB6?

Found the answer; you MUST power off; battery pull not needed. DO NOT CONNECT TO PC. Volume Down+Home+Power, you'll get an option to press Volume Up to continue -> now connect USB to PC. This will allow the upgrade of the Baseband/Modem.

Yup. That was it. Powering off (and in my case pulling the battery) was the key.

Incidentally this modem is needed for lineageos 14.1 or you'll have simcard issues.

Thx!

I have lineageos 14.1 hltetmo version and today had issues after leaving a wifi hotspot and having an lte connection problem. Just shows an x for data. Restarted phone and lte was back up and running. I was already running the QD2 modem at the time today.

I had a very similar issue. i was on my own wifi when the problem appeared. I restarted the phone several times, but never pulled the battery out. I decided to go back to stock OS because of the recurring issue. By any chance did you use the tmo apn settings from their website?. At some point even having lte signal i had no data connection at all.

Hows yours running?

Is it possible I might need an older baseband for best signal or basic functions like SMS?
Running MagMa VX1. Flashed bl and cp in Odin before a clean ROM flash in TWRP. ROM's great, data's fine, but I can't receive SMS basic texts. I've checked APN settings and changed APN type a lot -- still can't receive SMS. Could this baseband be the problem? Or what else, for not receiving SMS?

EDIT: Fixed. ROM set APN protocol to IPv4/IPv6 by default. Changed it back to only IPv4 and now receive SMS again.
